I am fed up with this Russo-Ukrainian war propaganda. Please don't make me parse through all this bull$hit especially on unrelated threads. 1.) Can't make anything out from that sat image. Zoom right in, I can't make out the craters inside those red circles. 2.) So I go to the twitter thread...

Please don't give me news media on propaganda overdrive due to Ukraine war as your sources when I am giving you official sources. And here I am talking about HIMARS comparison to Pinaka and you are giving me ATACMS figures of 300 km.

Who said HIMARS has "accuracy of 1-2 meters"? Its got "less than 15 meters CEP" based on this official document:- Sauce: https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2017-12-08/html/2017-26454.htm More importantly, 1-2 meters CEP is stupidly accurate. You can't pull it off with just INS/GPS, even...

Grad was also used. But Pinaka back then was undergoing trials and so it was also used. Even in 2020 during the Galwan stand off we deployed LCH and WhAP there. Although not sure LCH and WhAP were used operationally, but if things would have gone kinetic, we might have seen them take part in...

Its around the same as US Army. But it depends on doctrine how you employ them, so can't really compare directly. I do think we need a lot more though.

Around 10 regiments in service. 22 planned. Used it back in Kargil war as well.

A cover not being headbutted by the missile does not mean its not hot launch. Hot launch means that during ejection, missile is powered by integral motor while cold launch means a separate mechanism (gas generator) is used. In Naval VLS, both hot and cold launches are preceded by opening of...

I don't think 4 batteries is low. They have also bought ATGM and other munitions (and maybe a few undisclosed drone/anti-drone systems as well). Also, in case of Indian Army buying the Pinaka, it doesn't include ammo costs when a new battery is ordered. That order is placed separately I think...

Unacceptable CEP most likely. Its ineffective at those ranges without guidance.

That is the Mk2 version, 5.17meters. Same as the guided round.

If by Pinaka ER you mean the Pinaka Mk1 Enhanced, then its the same length as the original Mk1 rocket. They just put in a better propellant by HEMRL.

Actually now that I look closely, the rear fins in guided rocket look different. If they are articulated, then they also likely don't fold. While the fins on the unguided rockets do fold. Now the difference appears stark.

The fins at the rear fold. Ones in front do not. Besides, I don't see any other reason they would reduce number of rockets per pod since it leads to a marginal reduction in operational capability.

I think its because of the fins. Not because of the missiles being too expensive. In the unguided version without the fins, the rockets fit snugly in the tube and tube in the pod. With fins, something had to give.
