J20's russian egine is a 'locally modified' varient of AL-31FM1/serial 3...13.5 ton class(wet). the current J20's 'super cruise' maneuvering and combat tactics training are relying on the 'special mode' of AL-31 serial engine plus the plenty of internal fuel . the WS-10C is the right...

this is WS-10C engine varient for J20 serial production. WS-10B serial is for J11B/BS,J16 and J10B(handful) but there is a J20 prototype(PT 2021 or 2022 with WS-10C) was fitted with TVC nozzle.
