As per my knowledge we have acquired the mistral launcher for the LCH but not the missile itself owing to high costs. The Mistral missile can be easily integrated when and if acquired by our MOD or a foreign partner. At present our LCH lacks an Air to Air missile.

They should go for an interim solution such as Spike or Hellfire until the indigenous solution is available. It will take years for trials, MOD approval, CCS approval, production and finally integration.

The below article mentions that a new Air to Air Missile and not the Mistral will be procured for the LCH. Any idea which that would be ? Also, since Mistral specific launchers have already been purchased and integrated by HAL on LCH would the new missile be compatible with it or the launchers...

Given the fact the present conflict in Nagarno-Karabakh is being decided by drones would that have a role in negating the importance of LCH on the battlefield? Also, how would LCH fare against swarms of enemy drones ?
