B-52, b-1 airframs are at the end of their life anyway. Tu-160 prospective depends totally on what russia is willing to offer and at what price. Ofcourse there are far more urgent deals which gets precedence over tu160

You know many in Australia advocate for getting b-21 from the uncle. IF we decide to get tu-160 then amreeki can't simply waive the caatsa danda at us they also need to dangle the b-21 carrot (which was not possible in case of s-400 )

What upgrade does UAE m2000 needs which are in active service right now apart from indian misson computer and maybe minor software changes, that's all. On the other hand we have strip down ex Soviet air frames of migs. Now which one in bush now. IAF wants 90+ rafales & over 200 mk2 with its...

There will be mica ng upgrade for m2k latter (pretty sure about this). Swing role aircrafts are preferred option now days over specialised mission aircrafts just because it gives you more flexibility in mission planning.

Migs have to be used somewhere, can't expect to park it in hangars indefinitely. Now tell me why mirage 2000 was called in for strikes inside enemy heartland on 26 feb (could it be because of its swing role capabilities, means it can do both air to air defence/offense as well as air to ground on...

That is why we have this opportunity to ditch the mig29s and get the m2000 instead. Migs need major overhaul which means more delays whereas as m2000 can get to flying ops right away.

Also mig 29s are not swing role fighter even if you put an aesa in it where as j-10c are swing roles same as tejas. In 2021 where every nato countries are going for 5th gen fighters we are looking for an analogue cold war fighter.

If the price is right, why not. Better than mig29s deal. I would say cancel 12 mki deal as well. Something has to give if you want 90 rafales.

There is no point in acquiring a 21 dinosaurs (mig 29) just to build numbers. Those money would be better spend toward rafale or tejas.

These mirage are already upgraded, if price is right (compared to mk2 acquisition cost) then why not. Still better than 21 mig29s deal (no point in upgrading those dinosaurs).

There is a need for Rafale, wheather its 36 or more and the window for signing this deal will be closed within 2022(after that election campaign starts). Given the current security scenario we are in it is incumbent on Modi ji to take a personal initiative like he took in 2016. There is no point...

Ok i see my folly on fast moving jet trying to shoot slow uav, i give you that but still not convinced on mki not getting a missile firing solution especially a modern wvr missile. We had a rough/macro view of what unfolded on 27th feb's morning but its far from clear. Lets hope more info come...

Guns should be last resort for air combat after one runs out of missiles. However guns are good option against slow uavs

I apologise if this has already been discussed. So i had been lurking in brf and came across this new info on 27th feb air battle. In the book named 'balakot airstrike: how india avenged Pulwama' by manan bhatt it has been mentioned that the sole mki(codenamed Avenger 1) fired its cannon in...
