LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

The next big thing, actually, is Tempest but unfortunately for the IAF, that will have to wait. 🤷🏻‍♂️ P. S. - The Video is cool though.

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

The IAF wants the Tejas to be as cheap as possible (proven by the super long negotiations period) and the M88s, with their limited production run, are gonna cost us more that the F404s and thus are not gonna make the cut just like the French Radars. And the F404 we use is an uprated version of...

Tejas can carry only two Astra missiles? What the heck is that?! Where did you get that from? And what's up with the drop tanks thing and if you are gonna include them anyway then Tejas can carry them too! And yes three Drop Tanks configuration is also being worked upon.

Once Uttam is developed it would only make sense for us to use a heavier more powerful version of it on the Su-30MKIs.

Fingers crossed! 🤞🏼 And once we have Uttam operational we will be able to integrate any weaponary on offer throughout the world including the American, Isreali, European and Russian ones in addition to our own indigenous ones.

Also because the Israelis are much more forthcoming about sharing the codes and helped us develope radar technology. Going with the European radar would have soured our co operation with the Isrealis in developing radar tech and would have left us dependent on the Europeans for radars for a long...

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

Hey guys, i have a question. Are there any plans to rework the air intakes on the Mk1A or the MWF, or is ADA going to stick with the current style simple air intakes?

LCA TEJAS MK1 & MK1A: News and Discussion

We do not need to import European radars to get Meteor operational with MWF or even the last batch of Mk1A. They will integrate the Meteor with our own Uttam radar if it's not found to have any Israeli backdoors. MBDA UK had even suggested allowing Meteor to be integrated with the Su-30 MKI...

Lol! Go and check your original post which i replied to and you'll understand what i meant... I hate imports just as much and don't even recommended imported subsystems like you if indigenous ones are available. Hail Uttam! Hail Astra!

All the manufacturers do that‍♂️... The range is obviously gonna vary according to the weapons' load for any given aircraft.

A ferry range greater than 2000 km. Wow! That's impressive! Makes me wonder if some of all the weight cutting they were promising indeed has been delivered.
