Nitpick on MSM pronouncing corps The word is ' 'Corps' pronounced as कोर. Not कौरपस. It comes from the French phrase 'corps d'armée'.' The French word 'corps' (old cors) in turn comes from the Latin 'corpus'.

The Chinese helmet didn't either. Even a 9mm seemed to have sneaked in (alright the shot may have been wrong)... But aren't the helmets are meant for protection against shrapnel and not necessarily the bullets?

I don't really agree that army fatigues should not be worn by others. They are fairly close to camouflage that trackers(hunters too sadly) use around the world in forests. Impersonating is prosecutable, but wearing it should not be banned.

I didn't see any reports of soldiers killed while laying mines. Is it because of faulty mines or lack of safety precautions while laying them?

I agree, but we did see a degree of change. NDTV is now a white elephant to whoever is trying to sustain them and other sensible presenters have grown in stature. Sanitizing media of anti-India forces should be handled independently. This permission from forces to publish news is going to bring...

I think we should leave it to the judgement of the news channel. In this day and age, the video will surface somewhere and we should build enough inherent controls into the news organizations that they themselves have reasonable control to not damage the national image or further anti-India...

Not sure if budget should be a constraint if you are only talking about salaries. Its just 42000 officers. We can manager bigger staff. However we surely can't try creating a command structure for each rank. What I mean is, just because we have a new Major General, we can't create a bunch of...

I disagree. Army needs more younger people in decision making ranks. Doing away with a few layers helps in this. Compare the ages of commanders of even Pakistan to that of our commanders of equivalent position. You will see that our leaders have toiled longer to get to that position. Growth and...

Doesn't it come under the impersonation of an officer offense? While that is there, some camo patterns should be encouraged even for civilians I guess. Not sure if we should have strict restriction on even someone wanting to put on a particular uniform.

Really shocking. I thought the process to pack the main and reserve parachutes and their verification was comprehensive. This incident should call for a reexamination of any lapses there.

@Kunal Biswas @Bornubus Regarding the vehicles that are targeted by terrorists, how many exits do they have? It might be worthwhile for non armored transport to have multiple exits in different directions allowing the troops to disembark safely and return fire. Or is the truth different?
