I meant this is already present in foc standard aircrafts... Dubai or LIMA demos you can see it.. so it's not something coming new with mk1a or am I missing something

yes R73 is not designed for that and is much too expensive to be used against those.. Akash too tracked but did not trigger with the small target. so there has to be systems designed from ground up to tackle these drones

BTW Samar's R73 also tracked but did not trigger!

in war, the target would be a larger aircraft with greater IR signature.. The Tejas launched it successfully after acquiring tone and the missile tracked it.. now if missile is an R73 which is not the best then its not the fault of the platform
