That cost will reduce though for an aesa equipped one the cost will be around 40+ For airforce we need something like Mig 29/35 in numbers for interception etc. But navy which can carry only 20+ jets in its aircraft carrier would rather invest in something best of the line. Having said...

The list didn't included F-15 as it was never an option in original competition.

There was no such clause initially we opted for 16 of Mig29 k and their improved performance made IN opt for more of those for second carrier too. But the second carrier got delayed and the issues popped up with the airframe of mig 29 k and also the exposure to American system made IN realise...

Not serviceability but availability rate which is 70-80 but.... The service life of fighter jet isn't comparable to western jets like Hornet , Rafale also provide better airframe life in naval configuration. Though the cost was just 29 million to acquire it in comparison to 100 million plus...

But Mig29k are far cheaper and we will need only a few more as stop gap. And we may get Tedbf too in a decade plus time from now on. In short under half a billion can provide us 10+ Mig 29 to keep the availability rate high. While Rafale etc will cost billions of dollars . And all of it rest...

If not EU then who ? It's either Gripen or Rafale offcourse Typhoon ... In the mess.

    MMRCA 2.0: News & Discussions

We already have an aircraft capable enough to fill the squadron gap. It's already in production HF- XX "Tejas" which is good enough for Western sector against Porks. We have already paid for Rafale and another batch of 36-54 will cost far less. Though overall this will be an expensive affair ...

Doesn't make sense... Anyway please share your source for this... "When ever govt ask IAF for any quick & result oriented operation then they refuse by saying we don't have enough jets so we cant fight, IAF always gives this type of excuses before/after rafel."

    MMRCA 2.0: News & Discussions

    1. When did IAF said it please share the link or source of your information. 2. Except Rafale we aren't buying anything new. 3. Tejas doesn't answer all operational needs. 4. Aerospace sector etc develops in decades can't leave our sky defenceless waiting for it. 5. The offset from Rafale...

    MMRCA 2.0: News & Discussions

Flankers weren't bought because our condition was bad enough in that case Mig 29 were cheaper ... or mirage production line.. IAF rejected it due to many account .. yes it is not as stealthy as raptor doesn't mean it is less stealthy than any 4th gen like Rafale or Chinese jet . Russians...

    MMRCA 2.0: News & Discussions

That was politics not error on IAF part... First UK LEADERS make the politician divide the order of 300 Mirage into 150 Jags plus 150 Mirage Then Mig 29 amazed IAF but the Soviet disintegration totally screwed the plan and only 80+ were inducted. 108 Rafales is very much possible in two...

    MMRCA 2.0: News & Discussions

I won't go much into it... Su 57 wasn't pursued because there wasn't much work share as we wanted to have for us... And it was more than decade away. We wanted to have Rafale first since we didn't had enough funds to continue with both. It is much more stealthier than Rafale we are buying or...

    MMRCA 2.0: News & Discussions

Offcourse... They'll keep the initial product line low and once the engine radar etc are finalised and they have budget will start inducting then to replace old jets. That's how production line matures and move with a new jet allover the world. Rejected it failed aircraft ? By that logic Su...

    MMRCA 2.0: News & Discussions

We will raise our MKI to Su 35 standard and more that's the goal. In 2010 around yes... but now Su 57 is available so no point going that route now. MMRCA was raised to diversify from Russian fighter jets and buy Mirage 2k Rafale is at no. 1 there was no alternative politically from the...

    MMRCA 2.0: News & Discussions

Before you jump in read and don't come up with misleading stuff. Rafale cost is significantly higher that's why they lost in Brazil and SA to Gripen. Israel didn't allowed Meteor ? Meteor not available for American fighter jets ? Those all are misleading false assumption. No your post...

    MMRCA 2.0: News & Discussions

Yes it is because we haven't upgraded Sukhoi to its latest iteration yet. It's like comparing Rafale F1 with Rafale F4 . The number 114 is MRFA that is Rafale or .. as they may opt for another platform instead if cost factor goes out of hand. My only complain is if they were really looking...

Probably in RCS ? Surpasses Rafale in what ? I should do a comparative study ? On what and why? Anyway cook it it's fine 🙂

    MMRCA 2.0: News & Discussions

In a high attrition war how would just 12 F-15 which will probably cost 3+ bn dollar are right choice when we can buy more Rafale for that price ? And not to forget it will take another 3-5 years for them to come and become operational.
