HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

With same engine power, coaxial rotor always produces high power because all the power is used as lifting force. While on normal chopper, about 15% power is used to keep chopper stabilized because of the spinning (Somebody please mention technical name) force generated because of the rotation...

    Corrected. Thanks ........................................

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

Dhruv is almost on the threshold of light and medium weight category chopper.

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

LUSH has a payload of more than 1 ton. Data above are incorrect.

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

If we use double rotors , our existing choppers can carry load to even higher altitude.

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

We should make Choppers like Russians do. Double counter rotating rotors to carry higher Payload.

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

It has some 1.3 ton of payload and you have to manage all from this only. You can do whatever you want out of this payload. Human carrying capability shall reduce if payload is high.

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

I want same to be happened with small passenger planes as well. It is going to boom and we don't have our own.
  9. HariPrasad-1

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

Why do you want it to be modified. it seems all right and there shall not be any major change.

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

yes, obviously but weight carrying figures are quoted at sea level. ALH dhruv carries just 400 KG in siachin.

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

That is fine but Empty weight is going to reduce few hundred KG and count the pilot weight 70 KG and not 100. MTOW is counted after all concessions so no need to further reduce 100 kg for margin.

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

I do not think so. It should carry about 1300 Kg. It is a 3 ton class chopper i believe. So it should carry atleast 1200 to 1300 KG as per my guess.

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

This chopper just took its first flight and has done 200 KMPH by now. It is doing well.

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

Right now no combat chopper is planned.

With KA 226, new technology will come in.

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

Very nice. it flies very fast at low altitude.
  17. HariPrasad-1

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

Russian choppers like KA 52 alligator use this sort of technique and that is why they lifts a great weight compared to comparable chopper of US and Europe.
  18. HariPrasad-1

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

It does not have the tail rotor but has tow rotors one above other rotating in opposite direction to manage (Nullify)the force in a particular direction generated out of rotation.. This will save about 15% of energy used in tail rotor and we may better utilize the energy for lifting the chopper...

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

None in the world. Very few cn reach their empty.
  20. HariPrasad-1

HAL Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and Light Observation Helicopter (LOH)

CO axial rotors are very important and they save 15% power of tail rotor which may be used in lifting.
