What you are saying is the easiest way to install a shorter engine.. I am sure designers will be able to make some usable space if they redo the intake ducts... won't be very complex exercise as they had initial work done for shorter engine.any way they will have some work adjusting the center...

What happens to LCA II if Safran help's Kavari engine shed some weight & reach 95 Kn afterburner output. Kavari was designed for LCA so there won't be any need for structural modification and it will resolve the main issue of LCA 1 being under powered. Friends Your views please....
