Tonights dinner:
STEW: Mustard leaves & stem (flowering) and yam with smoked pork. With usual condiments: ginger, garlic, green chillies, dried bamboo shoot, salt.
CHUTNEY: wild spring onions mortar crushed with char grilled king chilly, ginger, salt, char grilled cherry tomato and fire roasted river crab meat.
RICE: unpolished dry paddy red/brown rice.

I believe most of our food and recipes were developped much earlier than the borders were drawn.
Nehari and biryanis for example orginated from Delhi but they are considered national dishes in Pakistan.
Pakistani cuisine has lot in comon with North Indian cuisine.
