US doing same with china, it is fighting china everywhere, until 2050 china is a threat to US superpower, so we will see lot more US-China fight and at the same time china can't afford full scale war yet because its military is still no match to USA.
When it comes to india, once india gdp reaches US gdp, they will pursue india as a potential threat. thats why they kept pak as alley, US dont give a shit about democracy or rules based order, many times they dethroned democratically elected presidents and installed military dictatorship, the best india can do is don't damage relationship with russia because of china-russia strategic friendship.
