I don't know what it is, but all state symbols (flag, coat of arms, name of the currency) are based on the foundations that existed back in Kievan Rus.
Kiev was conquered by Slavs in 882 and adopted the trident which is the symbol of the Rurik dynasty. If I'm not mistaken, before Slavic conquest Kiev used to be steppe Cossack which used to be Turkic.

You're wrong. Kyiv is a river trading city founded by the Slavs. Like Novgorod too. Maybe before that someone lived there, but it had no continuation. As a Greek colony on the site of which the Turkish fortress Hadzhibey arose, and then Odesa appeared.
