One more attempt and he might have crossed the 70m mark
Bhai agle olympics ke liye bhi kuch chod de
On a serious note, he already beat his personal best by a large margin during today's final. I am sure he will train harder for his next Olympics because just like we saw in the F46 category, Devendar Jhajharia's 17 year reign as the World Record Holder got broken suddenly by Sri Lanka's Dinesh by a huge margin of 3.89 meters. So Sumit will definitely have his eye on the 70 meter mark already.

BTW guys, get ready. Mariyappan Thangavelu is competing tomorrow for the Men's High Jump T42. He won the Gold last time in Rio as well. Look at his form from back then, impeccable:-

Doesn't look like Varun Singh Bhati is going to get the Bronze this time though, he seems bit out of form.

OK. So the Men's high jump is done. For some reason they had T42 and T63 categories competing together.

GOOD NEWS:-
Mariyappan Thangavelu: Silver medal (1.86 meters)
Sharad Kumar: Bronze medal (1.83 meters)
(both are T42)
Gold was won by T63 Sam Grewe of USA with a 1.88 meters.
.
Wonder why Thangavelu couldn't clear 1.88 meters despite 3 attempts. Last time he won Gold by clearing bar at 1.89 meters. Still its good performance.

The way things are progressing we might end up winning 15-20 medals in Paris. On average, it takes 8 years to produce Olympic medallists. The course correction was done in 2015. The results are slowly coming now; will be more visible from 2024 onwards. Just look at success in junior levels - boxing, wrestling, badminton, track and field, weightlifting, archery, shooting and even fcking cycling, golf and TT.
