GANDHINAGAR: A 12-member delegation from Taiwan, including Taiwanese ambassador in India Chung Kwang Tien today met Gujarat Chief Minister Anandi Patel here and held a detailed discussion about various issues, including production of semiconductors. The delegation included four women Members of Parliament (MPs) of Taiwan and representatives of Taiwan's Democratic Progressive Party, according to an official press release. These MPs, including Chen Chiech-Ju conveyed to the CM that several Taiwanese companies were interested in investing in Gujarat, especially in manufacturing semiconductors here, the release said. Giving them a positive feedback, Patel said that Vadodara and Sabarkantha districts are ideal for setting up production facilities for semi-conductors, adding that the Gujarat government is determined to provide employment to local youth through such projects. After a detailed discussion about increasing co-operation between Gujarat and Taiwan in the field of bilateral trade, education and cultural sector, Patel also invited Taiwan to participate in the forthcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit-2015 and explore possibilities in the medium and small scale enterprises sector here.
