Why we have lost 10 SU-30MKI in Ten Years? Where as Pakistan has lost only 10 F-16 between 1983 to till date, why Pakistan F-16 alone has got such safety record? last F-16 Crash of Pakistan Airforce was in 2009?

Lesser sortie rate than IAF. And the parts which Pakistan uses is imported directly from OEM whereas in india we manufacture them ourselves.

No Pakistan recently lost F-16 while doing practices for air force day

Of the total incident reported, they were either:

1. Pilot mistake
2. Bird crashing in engine.
3. Avionics failure.

Western jets have better operational rates, but also because there jets are built well.

But their fan boys used to boast that PAF Pilots used to fly more than IAF. because of constant flying they are more aggressive? I am confused :eek1: by their fan boys claim?

Even then there is a gap of 11 years.
You don't fly them you don't lose them.

When Americans started to mobilize against Chinese threat and increased sorties and all they also lost few aircrafts in month's.

Pakistan have lost 13 F-16 till now and if aircraft is crashed in non populated zone then they would have never made it public.

Hey, I have seen 3 Su-30 mki practicing at Jorhat airbase and IAF is buying land here to to increase the length of runway. This is the same base where Apache is based here. I think this will be the third Su-30 mki airbase in Assam.
Su30 operating from Rowriah is a norm. The extension is for something else. But it would be nice to have another MKI sqd in NE which I've said few days back.

Apart from Balakot Fiasco, Is there any other instances where Pakistan has covered their F-16 Losses? Padron me for repeated questions, but i am curious to know?

WASHINGTON -- A Pakistan Air Force F-16 accidentally shot down a companion F-16 previously reported to have been hit by a Soviet-made missile last May during combat over Afghanistan -- and U.S. officials assisted in the coverup, administration officials said Saturday.

According to Soviet-controlled Afghanistan press reports at the time, the F-16s were in pursuit of Soviet-made Su-22 fighter-bombers when they were 'jumped' -- or surprised -- by MiG-23 fighters.

The Afghan press reports simply said the Pakistani had been downed.

Administration officials said that the F-16 crashed on Afghan territory. The pilot ejected, and parachuted into Afghanistan. He later was safely returned to Pakistan by Mujahedin rebels, they said.

A U.S. intelligence source said that the accident 'is by no means' a reflection on the competence of the Pakistan Air Force whose pilots are 'excellent -- second perhaps only to Israel's in skill and capability.

But soviets also claimed that they have shot down F-16 with MIG-27.

The fighter program since F-# onwards, USAF and its military's industrial complex (MIC) have focused on offensive fighters. Since the era of F14 tomcat or even F4-Phantoms, there production line never stopped. Thus major OEMs like Boeing, Rocket Dyne, LM and its highly secretive Skunk works division etc. had more hands-on time on not just delivering jets, but improving production lines to Gold standards.

The MIC had permeability various industries from aero-space industry to aeronautical design and dev agency.
The moment prototype were built, they were handed over to NASA and USAF to test with such agile practices, they had a Industry which always focused on quality of parts with no compromise.

Since export products were also being made, quality assurance was never compromised.

👉 There future programs are always aligned towards there national interest and what the CIA wanted. You just don't built world super power status without trial-and-errors at highest levels.

👉 Plus never ending and ever increasing supply of cash poured in for the army of researchers and scientist cherry picked and invited from global stage or Ivy's.

There are many reasons to why there quality is phenomenal. But at this point I can only highlight a few.

May be for Super Su-30 Program . Bars NO11M radar which is a hybrid PESA and AESA radar. Current MKI version is NO11M (RC2) which increases range to 400 km AFAIK.

This is the international version of the F-16.net database by which I mean it’s outside India and Pakistan but the Pakis were able to reinstate there fake claims again about there F-16 Shooting down Su-30MKI after the admin removed the there fake claims the first time. I believe the website is the same everywhere across the globe so you can check out the link and see if the Paki claims are still there or not. For a website that claims authenticity and truthfulness regarding its data they shouldn’t be adding fake claims as facts made by a state which has no proof to back up there fake claims except some western defense magazine and a fake memorial.

IAF test fires MICA air-to-air missiles ahead of Rafale integration

By Hemant Kumar Rout| Express News Service | Published: 19th August 2020 08:00 AM

BHUBANESWAR: Amid a protracted stand-off along the LAC, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has accomplished a secret mission by conducting several rounds of air-to-air missiles that have recently been acquired from France and Russia from a frontline fighter aircraft off Odisha coast.

Defence sources said anti-air multi-target MICA missile fired from Sukhoi-30 MKI for the first time successfully destroyed expendable aerial targets (EATs), demonstrating its stealth capabilities. Ahead of the planned integration with multi-role combat aircraft Rafale, the IAF test fired two rounds of Beyond Visual Range (BVR) air-to-air missile MICA on Monday and Tuesday.

The fighter aircraft took off from Kalaikunda airbase in West Bengal and fired the missile, successfully neutralising the aerial target drone mimicking enemy aircraft at low altitude. “All mission parameters have been met as the target was destroyed validating the missile’s launch envelope. The missile will equip both Sukhoi and Rafale fighter jets,” a defence official told ‘The Express’.

Acquired from France, MICA is an all weather missile system available in both short and medium ranges. The fire-and-forget missile can be used both by air platforms as well as ground units and ships.

The 3.1 metre long missile having a diameter of 0.16 m weighs around 112 kg. It can neutralise targets within a range of 500 metre to 60 km. Of its two variants guided by radio frequency (RF) and infrared (IR), MICA-RF has an active radar homing seeker and MICA-IR has an imaging infra-red homing seeker. Both seekers are designed to filter out counter-measures.

Last week, the IAF had conducted two rounds test of R-77 air-to-air missile acquired from Russia. The multi-purpose missile can be used against a range of aircraft, both tactical and strategic and from hovering helicopters to high-speed at different altitudes. The medium-range air-to-air guided missile R-77 is about 3.6 metre in length and 200 mm in diametre. It weighs around 175 kg. It has an operational range of 80 km to 100 km. Both the missions were conducted by the IAF while the DRDO provided the logistic support. After the successful trial of Dhruvastra last month, the twin missions during the Covid-19 pandemic proved the readiness of the test range.

“The IAF is in the process of upgrading its squadrons. It is also in process of procuring Meteor missile from the European weapon maker MBDA. Rafale will be equipped with MICA and Meteor,” the official added.
