UEC CEO Alexander Artiukhov has stated that the first Item 30 equipped T-50 prototype will fly by the end of 2017. The statemend was done during press briefing on Aero India 2017 in Bangalore.
He has confirmed that Item 30 will have 20% greater dry and wet thrust comparable to Item 117 (Al-41F-1) engines (11500kgs upon 9500kgs dry and 18000kgs upon 15000kgs wet respectively), will have completely new design including changeable Bryton cycle control parameters and variable bypass levels.
So all the yumydelicious things we discussed earlier but barely could to believe in have revealled as an official truth.
And now just imagine Item 30 powered G5 LCA

My goodness, man...
I talk about the right way LCA that should be 1/2 of heavy fighter.
We have discussed that in Rafale thread.
I mean that if ADA or HAL will ever made G5 LCA then it would be a little beast if powered by 18 tons thrust engine.

1 - Russians don't need anybody to develop PAK FA, they develop and fund it themselves.
2 - FGFA is important (for both sides in different reasons) JV with a wide TOT to India, so nobody will deny it.
3 - Russia has the right to have JV with anybody on any subject (as India either).
4 - UAE JV means light G5 fighter (G5 LCA) development - the right LCA this time, powered by 1 Item 30.
5 - This JV does not intersect FGFA one in any means except... UAE can order FGFA export version as AF heavy component which is lucrative for all the FGFA stakeholders.

That's a whole different thing. It is going to be based on MIG platform. And it's a light fighter so not much to do with India.

Since LCA itself is reaching 4.5 gen milestones very soon . And AMCA on the line we will have to skip this one:biggrin2:​
