Sirji we're still using Dragunavs on the LOC right or did we start using the OFB's new sniper!

IMHO Dragunav is great for marksman, but not a good one for sniper.

Any info on OFB's new sniper...

Thanks

The Army killed 138 Pakistan Army personnel in 2017 in tactical operations and retaliatory cross-border firings along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, government intelligence sources said on Wednesday.

The Indian Army lost 28 soldiers during the same period along the LoC, the sources said.

The sources said the Pakistan Army usually does not acknowledge the deaths of its personnel and shows them as civilian casualties in certain cases.

The Indian Army has been adopting a “tough” approach in dealing with ceasefire violations and terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir in the last one year.

The Pakistan Army has suffered 138 fatal and 155 non-fatal casualties in tactical operations and retaliatory cross-border firings along the LoC in 2017, the intelligence sources told PTI.

A total of 70 Indian Army personnel were injured during cross border firings and other incidents.

Asked about the fatalities on the Pakistani side, the Army refused to comment. However, Army spokesperson Col Aman Anand said India has been effectively retaliating against all ceasefire violations by the Pakistan Army and will continue to do so.

According to official figures, 860 incidents of ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops were reported in 2017 as against 221 last year.

The intelligence sources said Indian Army killed 27 Pakistani soldiers in sniper firing last year while seven of its soldiers lost their lives in Pakistani sniper firing along the LoC.

As part of its policy of “hot pursuit”, the Indian Army has been carrying out tactical operations to foil Pakistan Army’s support to terrorists.

In May last year, the Indian Army had said it launched “punitive fire assaults” on Pakistani positions across the LoC, inflicting “some damage”, days after two Indian Army personnel were beheaded.

God bless these people
These are the real citizen of our country, they have held on to our country even through we have done so little for them.
I wish Indian government would open dozens of military schools, and college for children here.
I am sure when they would grown up they would become capable leadears in whatever they choose to do.

They need the false bravado as they have nothing worthy left in their country.

Imagine their Army soldiers getting halaled on both the east and west border. Then in politics they are getting insulted by everyone.Economy isnt great either.

Only blind islamic faith and a false superiority complex can lift their morale.

Being a smaller Army they have a bigger casualty than India shows how long they can last in a conventional war with India.

28 of our guys are still a lot.
Lets hope we further reduce this number and increase theirs.

Not exactly sure, where I should post this, so leaving it here - after all, all the wars have been fought at the borders and beyond. This moron is the guru of Gurmehar Kaur.
Sir ji, why exactly are you popularizing a nobody. If you say Indian Army is great then you blend in with the crowd, but if you say the opposite then you are in the spot light and this is what the guy wants and you are doing his bidding unknowingly.
Nobody knew who Gurmehar Kaur was until she said "I dont blame Pork"

I know.... but this is a good start in change of operation tactics. Hopefully, this makes way for a specialized Sniping school. @COLDHEARTED AVIATOR

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A specially trained squad of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu & Kashmir Police (JKP) is likely to take down the next fidayeen attackers by sniping them.

The personnel have been trained by the National Security Guards (NSG) over the past one year in Manesar and more recently in the Lethapora CRPF training camp in Pulwama.

Director General (DG) Sudhir Pratap Singh said, "Sniping is used world wide as a specialised tactic. It is an important skill which all forces must acquire while dealing with terrorist".

One of the black cat commando who trained the security forces in the Valley said, "The advantage of the sniper weapon is that it has a longer range and requires a skilled marksman. Also, less ammunition is used."

NSG has acquired the latest sniping weapon PSG 1 Alpha 1 Sniper and 7.6 mm Beretta sniper rifle.

AK 47s are used in close combat operations by both terrorists and xecurity personnel, but it does not have long range, This is where snipers have an advantage. Also, sniper utilises one bullet at a time.

The CRPF and JKP have only PSG sniping rifles. Though trained in sniping, the personnel missed the opportunity to take down three Jaish-e-Mohammed fidayeen who attacked the camp on December 31.

IG CRPF Ravideep Shahi said, "The sniping squad could not be used as it involves the target to be in the visible range, an opportunity which was not available then."

While the NSG trainers have acquired skills from special forces and para commandos, they have now acquired their own ability, teaching its own force and the other state police and Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

A sniping competition has been included in the All India Police Commando Competition to be held in Manesar from 13 to 20 January. Ten teams from the state police and CAPF will be participating in the event.

In the two decade long militancy, there have been many changes in tactics and weaponry, the snipers have potential to take down terrorist saving men and ammunition from terrorist.

What happened to all those satellites and surveillance devices? Why are we still in the same kargil scenario where some shepherd or porter spots the enemy and then alerts our forces?
Good question! Our CARTOSATS can pick up targets only within the funnel every 90 minutes. See below.....

Untitled-1 copy.jpg

The sats may not have been covering the area when this incident happened.

However, I'm not aware whether surveillance drones are being used in that area.

Hafiz Saeed incited jihad in UK in 1990s: BBC report

Hafiz Saeed, the founder of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba and mastermind of the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks+ , toured the UK in the 1990s to incite Muslims to become jihadis, according to a media report.

A BBC investigation has said that Saeed, one of the world's most wanted terror suspects, who now heads the Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) group+ in Pakistan, had toured British mosques in 1995 and his visit was recorded in a magazine published by the LeT at the time.

During the tour, Saeed spoke in Birmingham where he denounced the Hindus and urged his audience to "rise up for jihad". In Leicester, he spoke at a conference attended by 4,000 young people, according to the BBC Radio 4 documentary, titled 'The Dawn of British Jihad', aired last night.

"There is non-stop talk about jihad, encouraging British Muslims to join him," Sajid Iqbal, one of the programme's producers, told BBC Scotland.

While in Glasgow, Hafiz Saeed addressed a large gathering at the Central Mosque and claimed Zionists were using billions of dollars to "kill the spirit of Jihad" or the Holy War among Muslims.

"They are trying to entice Muslims to the politics of power through democracy. They are also using the interest-based economy to keep Muslims in debt," Saeed told his audience.

The documentary's producer said he was surprised that Glasgow Central Mosque had opened its doors to a "known militant" because it is run by Deobandi, a different denomination of British Muslims to Saeed's Ahl-e-Hadith community.

"Even in 1995, he was a known militant, active in Kashmir," said Iqbal.

Glasgow Central Mosque has not commented on the report.

Lashkar-E-Taiba, promoted by Hafiz Saeed on his tour of Britain, was proscribed as a terrorist organisation by the UK Home Office in March 2001.

On November 26, 2008, the Pakistan-based group was linked with the deadly wave of 12 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks across Mumbai lasting four days, which claimed 166 lives and injured hundreds others.

These Porkis have lost 138 killed and 155 injured from their Islamist Army and Rangers. That means 293 out of action. Quite a price paid for trying to infiltrate a dozen or so terrorists into Kashmir!! Don't these jackasses realize the price they are paying for trying to 'bleed India with a thousand cuts'?? It's actually they who are bleeding, and how!!

But for most Pakis, this douchebag Hafiz Saeed is a philanthropist, an altruist, a do-gooder, and a good samaritan!! That BC Musharraf has even said that he is his role model!!

So what can one expect from Terroristan? This failed state is on the verge of disintegration, what with 73 extremist / terror organizations ruling the roost with the help of the Establishment.

And then there's this denial.....

JuD terms BBC report on Hafiz Saeed 'bundle of lies'
