Most people speculate that the Pantsir is from Libya based on the chassis design. The Turks also blurred the details of the strike which makes it questionable if it was even recently, for all we know it could be old footage from strikes on Kurds. Turkey also blatantly hides losses, the Turkish government tries to get websites to delete images of destroyed Turkish armor. One can only image how much armor was destroyed by artillery, MLRS and other means deep inside Idlib where the Turks can sensor the flow of information.

Turks have lost up to 7 Drones in the past week in Libya and Syria. The Turks may have inflicted heavy casualties on the SAA recently but they themselves lost at least 37 soldiers (55 unofficially some day) just in the past week. Now factor in all the wounded soldiers that are dying every day, also factor in the all tanks and APCs Turks lost.

But it’s not just the Turks but their Al-Quida affiliate bandits. If the Turks lost have been this horrendous you can only image how many “rebels” have been killed.

I was just on peeedeeefff, apparently turkey has been bombing Pantsir batteries and Syrian tanks since yesterday. They have even shared a video, although with a Turkish title, it's probably from a Drone, gotta say it looks really cool. Can't really say if the video is fake or not.

Where in the video does it show Pantsir Batterie getting destroyed? Majority of the Equipment Destroyed were T-55, T-62, T-72 and T-90 Tanks, Some Towed 130mm and 152mm Caliber Artillery Guns, Bunch of BMP-1s and 2s, Shit load of Techincals, Gun Trucks and Tank and Troop Transports, Soviet Era Self-Propelled Artillery Guns like 2S3 and 2S1 also Maybe of some shilikas and Tunguskas ( I am not sure on these) Self Anti-Aircraft Platforms might have been destroyed that’s all the stuff I could find. I wasn’t able to spot a Pantsir Battery among the ones that ever destroyed. If anyone sees them in the footage can you please post it in the thread. These were all Syrian Army ‘s Equipment not Russia’s it was Russia who directly attacked Turkey but turkey bombs Assad ‘s Forces who didn’t even order the bombing on turkey’s troops LoL even ErDogan knows that if he went to far against Russian interests russia will kick his Donkey Ass back to hell.

Yep if I change my statement they did hit a Pantsir but the thing is that the Pantsir that said hit is from Libya used by LNA against Turkey Monkeys. These are Ex UAE Pantsir batteries given to LNA. They use the MAN Truck Chassis to carry Pantsir System while they Syrian ones similar to Russians uses the Russian Kamaz Trucks to carry there Pantsir Batteries. We can see the difference in a side by side comparison with Turkish attack footage. Turkey is liar

1. A Pantsir SAM was successfully bomb;

2. That Pantsir was active at the time it was hit (unlike the Israeli hit on an apparently off Pantsir).

In other words, Pantsir appears to be really overhyped.

In what context is it overhyped? The Syrians shot down an upgraded Turkish F-4 and many Turkish drones. The Russian Pantsirs also apparently shot down a number of Israeli and Turkish drones spying on their military bases as well as repelled mass drone attack and even improvised mortars. In Libya up to 4 Turkish drones were shot down with Pantsirs.

The Pantsirs is limited by range, the amount of munitions it has and how well the crews are trained. They are not invisible, no systems are, the Patriot have a history of failures even Israeli air defenses often time fail to shoot down primitive drones and rockets.


The Turks showed a Panther destroyed in Libya and tried to pass it on as being over Syria. End of story.

It is the S-300, S-400s and future S-500s were the Russian Air Defense technology really shines. Too me it looks like the Israelis were able to overwhelm the system using multiple munitions.

Pantsir is an integral part of Russia's overhyped AD system that Israel routinely trashes in Syria (S-300 shooting down Russian spy plane instead of Israeli F-16 --- now that's funny if not for the death of the Russian crew). As a point defense SAM Pantsir is supposed to protect S-300 to 400 to 500. But obviously, it cannot do that job. So the much overhyped S-300 to 500s are sitting ducks against low flying and stealthy cruise missiles and suicide drones.

That's not counting the EW that can be unleashed on the now much studied S-300 and S-400 systems. S-500 is just an upgrade on the S-400.

Case being Russian tank in Indian hands did good job where same tank did shit job in Arab hands.

Now in regards to Russian air defence system, pantsir will be deployed as part of air defence system not stand alone. You cannot blame the system for some failure by a rag tag militia.

All system have their plus and minus. That's why your procurement is dictated by your strategy etc

The system is only as strong as its parts. All these S-300 to S-500 will be nothing if they cannot be protected. Right now it's a sh1t show for Russia AD system.
