Italian, Lebanese, Russian and Belarusian producers banded together to work on a film about terrorism, love and destiny of man, for it even created the Belarusian film company.
The project "The Unknown Soldier" will be created based on the eponymous book by Italian writer and journalist Gianni Perrelli, which tells the story of a young man kidnapped by terrorists. It is planned that this will be a difficult psychological movie with elements of action.

"This film is conceived by director and screenwriter to reveal to the world the whole tragedy of Syria uniqueness of this project is that the shooting will take place in Aleppo, on the ground." - Levenchuk said. Belarus as a producer country is chosen not by chance. According to the filmmakers, Belarus has the desired base, equipment and specialists. That is the conclusion an international producer team came, traveled several countries in search of a filming location. Also in the film it will reflect part of Slavic culture, as the plot of the hero of the picture is in love with a Russian girl.

ISIS captures goods parachuted over besieged Deir Ezzor

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (0:30 A.M.) – On Monday afternoon, ISIS militants intercepted a batch of UN-sponsored food and medicine airdropped by cargo planes over the eastern city of Deir Ezzor.

Subsequently, photos were posted online by Amaq Agency boasting the captured goods which included potatoes and other necessary valuables intended for besieged residents in the provincial capital.

Around 85,000 civilians in government-held neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor remain subject to a longstanding ISIS encirclement and are regularly supplied by airdrops.

Meanwhile, ISIS artillery and snipers killed and injured around 50 civilians today in attacks on the Al-Jourah and Al-Qusour districts around the time of Iftar, a traditional evening meal during Ramadan.

ISIS commanders are letting their frustrations take a deadly toll on the civilian population after they failed to advance during three consecutive offensives over the past week.

That was a long convoy and way too many vehicles to target.

Is there any munition that could wipe out a convoy of vehicles instead of one massive bomb that falls somewhere on the line of the convoy?

How about a cluster bomb that would get closer to the convoy, split into multiple independent armour seeking munitions?
That is exactly what CBU97 is.. effectively can hit 40 armoured targets over an area of 450m*150m. Also called the sensorfuzed weapon.

One single bomb case disperses multiple sub munitions which strike upto 40 targets like this

Perhaps @gadeshi can advise if something similar if available in the Russian inventory.

you are correct, they would be good for Tanks, but these are just trucks, carrying men & ammo...,

It would be cheaper just flying over and dropping two of these wouldn't it? Also you saw how the vehicles in the video started scattering to escape in multiple directions. SFW wouldn't even give them that opportunity. Every vehicle is taken out almost simultaneously. Very less chance of scattering to escape. Less time spent on target and a good cleaner hit coupled with almost zero reaction time for the ones in the convoy. Isn't that a win? Armor or not, none of the rats should live to fight another day once the trigger from the aircraft is pulled. Shouldn't that be the goal?

I would say one pass over the convoy dropping a couple of these would be far cheaper too instead of loitering over the target and dropping multiple ordinances while giving them the chance to scatter. But I don't know, might be wrong on this front. Perhaps you can advise...

I also was wondering one more thing. There is little doubt that the Russians are trying out some advanced tech in Syria. Any chances that India might get access to these? Or do we already have any such ordinance/equipment already in our inventory?

As for the previous question:
Yes, Russians have a wide set of SBE and self-aiming SPBE submunitions like this.
They are standardized and the same for all the cluster munitions from CBUs like RBK-250/500 to ALCMs and artillery rounds and MLRS rockets.

CNN Reports: http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/31/middleeast/russian-navy-cruise-missiles-palmyra/index.html
Cruise missiles launched by the Russian Navy hit a number of ISIS targets in Palmyra, Syria, Wednesday, according to Russian state media.

The strikes reportedly targeted militant positions east of the ancient city, which housed heavy equipment and militant troops transferred from ISIS' de facto capital Raqqa, according to Russian news agency Sputnik, citing the Russian Defense Ministry.
"The Russian Navy's Admiral Esen frigate and Krasnodar submarine performed a launch of four Kalibr cruise missiles from the eastern Mediterranean against the targets of the IS (Daesh) terrorist groups in the area of Palmyra," the Ministry statement reportedly said. "All targets have been struck."
IS and Daesh are alternative names for ISIS.
The report adds that the US, Turkey and Israel were informed of the strikes in a "timely manner" through operational channels.
______________________________________
I wonder whether these strikes were against the recent shipment of weapons that ISIS is believed to have received as part of an airdrop. Alternatively, I wonder whether this was a strike against ISIS with a few against the FSA that were allegedly being trained by the US and UK covert forces at Al-Tanf.

Should i keep posting us allies and kurds movement in this thread ?
because this is most active thread based on syrian war.

And BTW

Following the liberation of six villages on two flanks yesterday, the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) proceeded to capture a number of rural sites on Wednesday morning.

During clashes southwest of Raqqa, Kurdish forward units were able to wrestle control over the village of Hunaydi and established fire control over a section of the M6-highway, a jihadist supply road which runs vertically through ISIS’ territory in Syria.

Furthermore, fierce skirmishes erupted at the village of At-Tadiyah moments ago amid a pincer offensive cutting through ISIS turf on the southern bank of the Euphrates River.

On the eastern axis, the SDF recaptured the village of Raqqat as Samra overnight, thus advancing within two kilometers of Raqqa city’s eastern neighborhoods.

In addition, ISIS withdrew from the village of Al-Assadiah. Effectively, the SDF has now besieged the highly fortified Division 17, a military base located directly north of the provincial capital.

Meanwhile, some 4,000 ISIS fighters in Raqqa city are waiting to fight the Kurds in an attritional battle for the Islamic State capital itself.
