Russia needs to start a massive aerial bombardment of Ukraine to hasten the conclusion of the war. A big part of the reason why the Russian forces could not create a blitzkrieg war was due to their light handedness during the initial phase of the war. In trying to minimize civilian casualties in Ukraine they ended up losing the shock and awe of a sudden strike. This has only further compounded their problems in Ukraine and has led them to this quagmire. The only way out of this is to use their more sophisticated modern military equipments and use superior airpower to assert aerial supremacy so as to quickly conclude the war. Otherwise Putin would face economic doom and erosion of popular support back home.

The next step after the war would be to form an alliance with Russophilic countries like India et al and create an alliance to counter NATO. This would be the beginning of the second multipolar world era.
There is a couple of strategic reasons why Russia is not doing this.

1. Russia needs to save its inventory for warfare against NATO countries. Securing Ukraine is important but a sideshow in the grand scheme of things.

2. Does not want to alarm the neutral countries too much. Despite the western rhetoric about majority of the population wanting to join NATO, Half of Finland and Sweden still harbor second thoughts about joining NATO and is half hearted.

3. They want to keep eastern Ukraine infrastructure intact in order to speed up the recovery of the economy.

If you're thinking about the T90s, they have similar configuration to the 72s with some upgrades. So the ammo cook off will happen in them as well.
That's right.. That's why the infinite wisdom of our gernails never ceases to amaze me.. Also, though lives are very cheap in India.. its not easy to replace barbecued Russian/Indian tank crew.. As training new crew to handle a tank, and also operate them under warlike conditions will take years..
Another Russian BMP / Maruti van vaporized in Trostyanets .. Atleast, Russians won't have to bother counting these casualties..

Though the Kamaz Typhoon in the front has done better..

Russian T-72 cook off, and a crew on fire.. India should never use these T-72s in an offensive.. Strictly use these in defensive battles, where they are well protected by infantry.

Will Arjun survive this? Does India have any other options? The most realistic takeaway is that we have to develop tactics to minimize the effectiveness of ATGMs.

no tank is 100% immune 🤷‍♂️

we can outfit the tanks with APS , its a radar that detects a atgm / rpg then fires an explosive at it.

been hearing of 'plans' for years . we can fit not all the tanks but atleast 500 - 1000

pretty much what israel has done. i think it was effective against hamas in last conflict.

Yes.. fit the T-90s, that would be employed in an offensive role with APS.. Atleast, good protection against ATGMs would be ensured, as demonstrated by the Merkavas.. Also, Pakistan uses Infantry in Anti armour role with ATGMS.. so hope Gernails move their a** and call for APS.. and improve ERA coverage..

Multiple Piles of charred Dead bodies of Azov most Grewsome video still now 😕😕

Sad to see these are once Living humans

That could be a few dozen dead Azovs.. Looks like Russians returning the favor, after the Ukrainian POW video of Mal treated Russians.. It will only get more brutal from both sides now..

I don't think any tank can survive an ATGM hit. Weapons like the Javelin arcs up to hit the thinner, flatter top armour. As for the Arjun, afaik they have ammo storage with blow off panels just like the western tanks but dunno how effective they are in practice.

So far, from what I've read, the only potential counter ATGM measure right now is to have a detector that automatically shoots down the missile in flight. Could be expensive and also might be deadly to any friendly infantry nearby.

Russian special forces captured Ukrainian servicemen who were involved in the torture of soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for the Development of Civil Society Vladimir Shamanov during a round table, TASS reports.

True. But hull ammo storage as opposed to turret with blow off panel is particularly vulnerable to ATGMs that can cause certain cook-offs. This is the clear lesson from this Russian misadventure, which the Israeli learned earlier in the 70s using earlier generation IS MBTs.

Attempted assassination of the Top guys of Nikoleav by Angry Russians, after Russian Army was pushed back from Nikoleav,.. Although Mayor seems to have been late to office and survived..:bplease:
Either late or tipped off of the attack. Most likely that decapitation strike was timed to the usual busy schedule of that local government office.

Unlikely. Most likely Russian are pointing at existing Ukrainian POWs as replacements so that they csn offer something to the Russian public.
