Never,If we banned the bible,it may be thing long time ago,and during cultural revolution ,we even banned Confucius, but we now respect him a lot..
More like in 2007.
I can buy bible in the book shop, and I can also buy Koran here
Don't try, they ll probably add your name to the blacklist and harass you :blum3:
And the church, you mean the christian?Yes,there are a large population of people in China believe in it.But we have our own pope, and the pope is not appointed by Vatican, because of this in2008,we had conflicts with Vatican.
And I think whether the pope is appointed by the Vatican,it is christian ,too.
Yeah, the Panchen Lama is your own, the pope is your own. Every religious leader is your own, carefully pruned by the party to ensure that dissenting voices are not heard and governmental issues are not criticised. That is the extent of religious freedom in China.
As for the Vatican, firstly, you see, the Pope is not APPOINTED by the Vatican, Pope is ELECTED by College of Cardinals. Now I ll have to explain elections, democratic decision-making process by which people choose an individual to hold formal office, universal adult franchise, representative voting etc.... that is a long list to explain to someone socialist, so I ll just make a relatively simple point.
Vatican City is NOT a secular country, they are a Catholic monarchy, they don't try to insult the world's intelligence by claiming otherwise. Their primary motive is protection of the interests of Roman Catholics, not secularism, religious freedom etc. Similarly China govt. is a communist govt., their primary motive is letting the CCP remain in power, not liberty, freedom of thought etc.
They did .I mean, although the regilous has been in China for more than one thousand years, but we Chinese always keep a Lukewarm attitude towards religious.the main value of the society is set up by Confucius. And if the god get angry ,he won't be the god in our heart, and the god in our heart won't force people to embrace him.
Keep the BS chicanery out and the discussion objective please, its not a discussion about your personal beliefs, your preference for listening to Budhist monks while sipping tea, God's happiness, anger and evangelistic streak, value of society etc.
