Pakistan’s big acquisition of self propelled 155mm artillery was in the last year of George Bush administration (as I remember) to acquire American M109 self propelled artillery which was manufactured in sixties was lying as defunct in the warehouse and the Pakistanis grabbed it. This system was refurbished and a few minor upgrades were given during its renovation and was given to Pakistan. Hence Pakistanis got in a better shape in its artillery. Indian project Bhim with Denel had failed. Later india married an artillery gun with Vijayanta tank and now with the acquisition of South Korean gun, which is highly upgraded, india is in better shape.
