As far as CPEC is concerned, this is the first step towards independent Baluchistan, there is no going back. This will be India's way of telling the world that South Asia is our backyard and nobody gets to poke their dirty nose in here without getting a bloodied nose in response.

Why is the CPEC surrounded by secrecy? No civilian project in the world is surrounded by secrecy. Take big countries like China or smaller ones like Bangladesh every country takes pride in any great work they do. Why is your government hiding this project from its own people? Is the project not happening? Or do the terms by the chinks for this project call for pakistan to spread their legs so much wide that your government is ashamed to admit?

This C(I)PEC thing is itself inspired by DMIC.
On Pakistani forum, there are some highly visited threads about India's development. When DMIC started Indians used to relentlessly boast about it in Pakistani forums and Pakistanis just watched in awe and jealousy.
As we know Pakistanis constantly compare themselves with India and imitate Indians. Somewhere along this idea of Gwadar base and connecting it to China came up and Pakistanis started presenting it as something similar to DMIC. The propaganda spread across Pakistani media and for hopeless Pakistan, it became an alternate reality dreamland where rivers of dollar will flow in mini superpower Pakistan. Now look where things have reached, now some Pakistani asks why don't Iran Russia India join the epic C(I)PEC and some Indian member has to say , ever heard of DMIC?

Similar was the case of legendary Raheel Sharif. Few years ago with daily bomb blasts and humiliation, all was gloomy for Pakistanis. They needed something positive to cling on and were desperately looking for a Mahdi to bring them salvation. Then came the PR campaign of Modi which built a larger than life image of him and Pakistanis were awestruck and jealous. So when there was change of guard in Rawalpindi and a fellow Punjabi Raheel Sharif from Lahore whose family members had died in wars against India became COAS, Pakistanis built up his image on the line of Modi PR campaign. Raheel was made a hero in image of Modi right after taking up charge, even before he had done anything!

Both these thing happened at same time. I suspect same propaganda team of ISPR is involved in it.

Now all this hype has reached a level where Pakistanis have started believing their own propaganda which has become an alternate reality world where they can forget their present reality. Maybe the egoistic Raheel Sharif also started believing he is the Messiah.

The surgical strike was like a someone trying to puncture this bubble of dreamworld with a needle. First reaction of Pakistanis to this shock was outright denial. It would be interesting to see how they behave once reality sets in.

As far as India is concerned, we should only be concerned with strategic implications of this act of aggression and Chinese encroachment on Pakistan occupied Indian territory and soon to come Gwadar naval base with nuclear submarines. Even small nations would go to war for far smaller reasons.
