See the 81mm RCGM at AUSA Winter Symposium in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Booth #1823.Feb. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ — General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), and BAE Systems (LSE: BA) have successfully demonstrated a tactical version of their 81mm Roll Control Guided Mortar (RCGM) at Yuma Proving Grounds, Ariz., in January.
Sixteen rounds were tested in total, all of which guided to within an average miss distance of approximately seven meters from the target at ranges from 980 meters to 4,000 meters.
The testing was conducted under a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. Army Armament Research Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, N.J.
The tactical configuration of the RCGM used the current UK L41 high explosive mortar round and a six-increment propulsion charge system produced by BAE Systems. The guidance package developed by General Dynamics consists of a GPS receiver, standard M734A1 multi-option fuze components, and the company's patented Roll-Controlled Fixed Canard (RCFC) control system.
Daniel Paul, vice president and general manager of Precision Systems for General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, said: "Our partnership with BAE Systems has resulted in the near flawless development and demonstration of an 81mm precision mortar. This success is the result of a great team including the U.S. Army ARDEC and Yuma Proving Grounds test community. The telemetry and high-speed video coverage from the tests demonstrate, without a question, the maturity and capability of our 81mm RCGM. We are now in a position to offer the U.S., UK and other allies an affordable guided 81mm precision mortar capability in the very near term."
"The BAE Systems 81mm mortar system is in service with more than 40 countries worldwide, including the U.S. and UK, so we see a large potential market for this low-cost precision round which can be fired from our mortar tube without any modification," said Ian Anderton, managing director of BAE Systems Global Combat Systems Munitions.
Sir, If that is the Hydration pack is worth carrying, As for other Gizmos even Rifle the weight can be reduced and Increase Ammo and Optics, For example Older FAL weights 5kg and more new Rifles with Gizmos on weight less than 3.5kgs retaining all the positive points of FAL and much more, Same way you reduce the weight of the materials and can carry more equipment which Enhance fighting capability of a Men..What would be the weight that a soldier carries when he equipped with all the gizmos available in the defence market?
Could you tabulate the weight?Sir, If that is the Hydration pack is worth carrying, As for other Gizmos even Rifle the weight can be reduced and Increase Ammo and Optics, For example Older FAL weights 5kg and more new Rifles with Gizmos on weight less than 3.5kgs retaining all the positive points of FAL and much more, Same way you reduce the weight of the materials and can carry more equipment which Enhance fighting capability of a Men..
Regarding Pittu, Now days all the Equipment are stored in Solider Vest, And you need only the bag for food, All this is compact and less weight so does Solider friendly, Plates used in BP are 1.5kg where as they used to be 6kgs, So you reduce the weight of the material and increase more Ammo and food so does water..
Reflex and ACOG are now days become same as Baynot, and these all are addons, They have there part in a Solider `s fighting ability..Without all the fancy add ons, it was a huge drag. Now with the add ons what is it.
Remember many of the casualties in COIN is because people discarded those heavy patkas and body protectors!
I can, Almost all the system..Could you tabulate the weight?
6.8 mm Remington SPC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaThe 6.8 mm Remington SPC (or 6.8×43mm) is a rifle cartridge that was developed by Remington Arms with collaboration from individual members of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, United States Special Operations Command. to possibly replace the 5.56 NATOcartridge in a Short Barreled Rifle(SBR)/Carbine.
In tests, it was determined that a 6.5mm projectile had the best accuracy, but a 7mm projectile had the best terminal performance. Further tests showed that a 6.8mm projectile was the best compromise between the two, providing accuracy, reliability and terminal performance up to 500 meters. The combination of the cartridge case, powder load, and projectile easily outperformed the 7.62x39mm Soviet cartridge, with the new cartridge proving to be about 200 ft/s (61 m/s) faster.
The 6.8 mm Remington SPC was designed to perform better in short barreled CQB rifles after diminished performance from the 5.56 NATO when the AR15 was changed from the rifle configuration to the current M4 carbine. The 6.8 SPC delivers 44% greater energy than the 5.56 mm NATO (M4 configuration) at 100–300 metres (330–980 ft). The 6.8mm SPC is not the ballistic equal of the 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge; however, it has less recoil, is more controllable in rapid fire, and lighter, allowing operators to carry more ammunition than would otherwise be possible with the larger caliber round. The 6.8 mm generates around 1,759 ft·lbf (2,385 J) of muzzle energy with a 115-grain (7.5 g) bullet. In comparison, the 5.56x45mm round (which the 6.8 is designed to replace) generates around 1,325 ft·lbf (1,796 J) with a 62-grain (4.0 g) bullet, giving the 6.8mm a terminal ballistic advantage over the 5.56mm of 434 ft·lbf (588 J). One of the enigmatic features of this cartridge being designed for a short barrel rifle is that the standard rifle length is 16 inches [40.64 centimeters]. You only gain about 25-35fps per inch of barrel length passed the standard 16 inch barrel (all else being equal).
By late 2004 the 6.8x43mm SPC was said to be performing well in the field against enemy combatants. Special Operations end users were reported to be very pleased with it.

Titan in action
Within the company Bumar Soldier (PCO) was a Polish soldier to show the future. For the first time you could see Titan ISW "‹"‹model in a dynamic action.
Bumar for the first time demonstrated the interaction three-person group of Polish soldiers of the future that included the commander, the command post (in the future who Wolverine) and his dismounted subordinates are operating in urban areas
The development of the Polish soldier of the future began in 2007. By 2008 the then Department for Armaments Policy (DPZ) has conducted conceptual and feasibility studies of individual combat system (HEI), which has been code-named Titan. The project aims to radically increase the characteristics of accelerated combat soldier on the battlefield, as well as its survival. From the equipment comes down to supply twenty-first century Polish fighter with modern weapons, uniforms, ballistic shields, observation and targeting device operating in all conditions, day and night, and above all the individual means of communication and data visualization.
That's all, acting as a coherent command support system (SWD C4I), combined with battlefield management system (szpw, BMS), a higher tactical level, is to give the 2018 Polish soldier in the army of unprecedented opportunities. Not only will be in constant contact with his fellow teammates, which is the basic cell of an individual combat system, but also with the commander and his superiors. Commander will not only know the position of infantryman at any time, but also monitor their health and fatigue.
In the future command support system components are to be placed on board the vehicle, which is the basis for the titanic team of soldiers
Each soldier will receive the needed data immediately reconnaissance, detailed map or site plan, he can also collect and send information to a higher level. This is to serve for a small computer - doręczne device connected to the display nahełmowym and sensors: Flags noktowizyjnymi and thermal imagers, binoculars observation and measurement. This is to allow for unprecedented planning and conducting activities to minimize the risk of surprise, confusion or loss of soldiers in control of them in the heat of battle, and greatly improve their combat abilities.

In 2009, DPZ has announced a tender for the first stage of the individual project titan battle system, the development of Guidelines for Design (OZP) and the proposed Tactical and Technical Guidelines (ZTT). Won by a consortium consisting of 13 entities, with the company Bumar as a leader. Its members are subordinate to Bumarowi companies: Bumar Electronics (CNPEP Radwar), Bumar Soldier (PCO), Bumar Ammunition (ZM Mesko) FB Radom, Tarnow OBRSM, PSO and ZM Maskpol Dezamet, as well as WB Electronics, WAT, and WIML WIHiE.
November 8, 2010 the military side of the conceptual design has been provided with technical and economic analysis and proposed ZTT, as well as possibilities for analysis and verification of technical parameters. For nearly 1.5 years of Armament Inspectorate (IU, the successor DPZ), together with the cells of the General Staff and other agencies and the Defense shall evaluate the results of verification, as well as modify them.
Demonstration took place in urban areas, so you could see what offers the possibility of observation. As seen in the pictures the soldier issued a corner of the building the same weapon, allowing him to secure observation of the terrain, without exposing themselves to enemy fire
Most of ZTT for the uniforms, weapons, ballistic shields and other components is already written. Still lingers and so far no agreement has been finalized guidelines for the process of command support system, due to the simultaneous work on the battlefield management system. This is hampering the work on a Polish soldier of the future, and thus all of its other components ( new handgun and rifle for WP , 2012-03-15). Worse yet so far it is not certain whether the SWD and szpw one system will be a variation of what you would like the army and what appears to be the most meaningful, whether it is a separate C4I for Titan tense later at a higher level of BMS platoon, company, battalion or brigade. Tender for battlefield management system is expected to begin again this year.

Current plans MON assume that IU is provided by the existing consortium guidelines will receive 20 million zł for the next stage of work on the ISW Titanium - design and development. Under the supervision of the Inspectorate of Armaments is to be made a prototype of the future Polish soldier, and his research will be carried out interviews. First, it is assumed integration in a coherent system of all the existing pieces of equipment, then the 2015-2016 replenishment of the new equipment that is currently being prepared (for example, MSBS-5 rifle, 56 with the new grenade launcher, which will be shown in a few weeks). Meanwhile, having finished ZTT on individual components of Titan whatever the military can buy them within the framework of technical modernization, then integrating with the rest of the system. This applies, for example, new uniforms, helmets and ballistic shields, as well as weapons.

On the back is visible radio and battery, on the side of the thigh holster the weapon (in this case P99 pistol FB Rad) and bayonet-knife, rifle, rolled over him a bag of discarded magazines, on the other hand gas mask PSO Maskpol MP-6
Assuming that all ZTT, including C4I, and BMS will be established this year, at the turn of 2015/2016 the army is expected to begin testing, testing and training of the first series of 50 sets of soldier of the future. Current plans are to purchase 12 thousand. individual combat systems after 2018. In the first place they hit the wheel units using armored personnel carriers Wolverine, which will be the base of each team titanium warriors. In other words, the first set of soldiers will receive a 12th Mechanized Brigade from Szczecin, 15 Giżycko Mechanized Brigade and the 17th of Giżycko Wielkopolska Mechanized Brigade in Mesopotamia. Almost at the same time sets to pick up soldiers reconnaissance units: 2 Hrubieszów Reconnaissance Regiment of Hrubieszow, 18 Reconnaissance Regiment from Bialystok and 9 Warminski Reconnaissance Regiment of Lidzbark Warminski. Ultimately, the Army want to win more than 40 thousand. individual combat systems.

The Warsaw office Bumar Soldier (PCO) was the first official demonstration of the activities of individual sets of three model Titan combat system. The guests were presented equipment designed and manufactured by the consortium members, including in Multicam camouflage uniforms, which was designed specifically for each soldier using a laser scanner human silhouettes ( Maskpol scans of people , 2010-09-09), a new variety of integrated vest Velociraptor ( new armor and clothing with Maskpolu , 2010-09-06) helmet HBKO-1, a personal communicator soldier PSI-Ψ ( PSI-Ψ - inch pretty new device , 2011-09-05), as well as thermal sights CTS-2.
The project developed at the Military Institute of Aviation Medicine of Life Monitoring Module, based on a system of SMP-200, in real time, giving the commander of the health of the soldier and psychomotor performance. In the future, is to be implemented in HEIs Titanium
This was followed by simulated action kilkunastominutową three-person group of soldiers in the future urban area. Visitors can observe the movement of infantry in the building interior and exterior, with a view of the cameras nahełmowych, as well as thermal sights, while monitoring their location on the map, presented in the form of tags. The show also demonstrates the possibility of retransmission of data by another radio station when the radio signal was disrupted when moving elevator.
The recording of the show, including the issuing of orders by the commander as well as preview images visible to him from the command support system: maps of the area of activities and image of a miniature camera headgear
Should appeal to associations with popular culture, the command post of titanium group of soldiers, which in future is to be on board the armored wheeled transporter Wolverine is extremely close to the vision popularized by science fiction film Aliens (Aliens). The commander in much the same way gave instructions to his subordinates, had view of their location (symbolized by a moving map area tags), while watching the plot through images of miniature cameras and termowizorów.
