India Will Continue To Hit Pakistan, Says Chief Of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat
Published May 24, 2017 SOURCE: HuffPost

India will continue to hit Pakistan as long as it supports terror groups, terrorists or the unrest in the valley, Chief of Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat told HuffPost India on Tuesday. Speaking exclusively to HuffPost India hours after the Army claimed that it had destroyed Pakistani Army positions across the Line of Control (LoC), General Rawat said, “Pakistan cannot think that a proxy war–-that of training and arming terrorists–has no solution. As long as he (Pakistan) continues, we will continue to hit them.” The Indian Army, General Rawat said, “is not sitting idle.” “Our message is clear, terrorism is not acceptable and we will go after terrorists,” he added. Pakistan should not think India is a weak nation and would allow Jammu and Kashmir be taken away by a proxy war, General Rawat said. “If he (Pakistan) continues to behave this way, we will keep hitting.” Earlier on Tuesday, the Indian Army issued a statement and a 24-second video showing a Pakistani Army post being blown to smithereens. The punitive strikes were carried on 9 May, 2017, it claimed, using recoilless guns and anti-tank guided missiles to destroy a Pakistan Army position along the LoC. The Pakistani Army has denied this claim. Meanwhile, top sources told HuffPost India that the Indian Army could release more evidence of similar punitive strikes. General Rawat said that people in Kashmir must realise that “they are being used as pawns by Pakistan.” The continued unrest in the valley is only harming the population of the valley, he added. Since July 2016, when Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani was killed in an anti-terror operation, the valley has been under a lock-down with separatist leaders leading the agitation. Earlier, despite grave provocation, the Indian Army was always cautious about claiming or owning-up to action against Pakistan. Except the surgical strikes last year in 29 September–when Indian Special Forces crossed the LoC and hit Pakistani army positions–the Indian Army has never publicly accepted to punishing the Pakistan Army. The Army, it now appears, is no longer shy of accepting that it is hitting back. It clearly shows that India is adopting a different tack when dealing with Pakistan. By claiming that it is punishing the Pakistan, the Indian Army hopes to embarrass the Pakistan Army within Pakistan. Secondly, it is also tacitly sending a message to Indians that it is giving an adequate reply to transgressions by Pakistan.

India considering punitive actions against Pakistan: US intelligence Published
May 24, 2017 SOURCE: PTI

India is moving towards isolating Pakistan diplomatically and is considering punitive actions against Islamabad for its alleged support to cross border terrorism, a top American defence intelligence chief has told lawmakers. “India has sought and continues to move to isolate Pakistan diplomatically and is considering punitive options to raise the cost to Islamabad for its alleged support to cross-border terrorism,” Lt Gen Vincent Stewart, Director, Defense Intelligence Agency told members of the powerful Senate Armed Services Committee during a Congressional hearing on worldwide threats. His statement came a day after Indian Army launched “punitive fire assaults” on Pakistani positions across the Line of Control, inflicting some damage. India, he said, is modernising its military to better posture itself to defend New Delhi’s interests in the broader Indian Ocean region and reinforce its diplomatic and economic outreach across Asia. Bilateral relations between India and Pakistan worsened following several terrorist attacks in India, he said. “Continued threat of high level terror attacks in India, violence in Kashmir and bilateral diplomatic recriminations will further strain India-Pakistan ties in 2017,” he said. Following a terrorist attack on an Army base Kashmir last September, New Delhi conducted a highly publicised operation against militants across the Line of Control, he added. “In 2016, Indian and Pakistani forces exchanged some of the heaviest fire in years along the Line of Control in Kashmir, and each expelled a number of the other’s diplomats amid growing tension,” Stewart said. He also told lawmakers that in 2017, Islamabad is likely to slowly shift from traditional counter-insurgency operations along Pakistan’s western border to more counter terrorism and paramilitary operations throughout the country, which have had some success in reducing violence from militant, sectarian, terrorist, and separatist groups. “Anti-Pakistan groups probably will respond to this sustained pressure by focusing their efforts against soft targets,” he said. Noting that Pakistan’s nuclear stockpile continues to grow, Stewart said the US is concerned that this growth, as well as an evolving doctrine and inherent security issues associated with Pakistan’s developing tactical nuclear weapons, presents an enduring risk. “Islamabad is taking steps to improve its nuclear security and is aware of the extremist threat to its program,” Stewart said. Observing that China has long identified the protection of its sovereignty and territorial integrity as a “core interest,” he said in the South China Sea, China has embarked on a multi-year, whole-of-government approach to securing sovereignty, principally through maritime law enforcement presence and military patrols. In 2016, China rejected the international arbitration ruling on its excessive South China Sea claims, built infrastructure at its man made outposts on the Spratly Islands, and for the first time, landed civilian aircraft on its airfields at Fiery Cross Reef, Subi Reef, and Mischief Reef. “China will be able to use its reclaimed features as persistent civil-military bases, which will enhance its presence and its ability to control the features and nearby maritime space. Beijing recognises the need to defend these outposts and is prepared to respond to any military operations near them,” he told the lawmakers. Stewart said a key component of PLA strategy in a regional contingency is planning for potential US intervention. The PLA Rocket Force has given priority to developing and deploying regional ballistic and cruise missiles to expand its conventional strike capabilities against US forces and bases throughout the region. “In addition to the Rocket Force’s fielding of an anti ship ballistic missile, China is fielding an intermediate range ballistic missile capable of conducting conventional and nuclear strikes against ground targets in the Asia-Pacific region as far away as Guam,” he said.

PAF jets fly near Siachen, 'Indian air space not violated'

Pakistani fighter jets flew near the Siachen Glacier today, according to a media report here, but Indian Air Force sources said there was no violation of India's air space.

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) fighter jets made flights near Siachen Glacier this morning, Samaa TV reported.

Quoting sources, the report said all of PAF's forward operating bases have been made fully operational.

Mirage jets of PAF are part of exercises since the forward base was made operational.

In New Delhi, IAF sources said there was no violation of India's air space.

The report came a day after the Indian Army announced that it launched "punitive fire assaults" on Pakistani positions across the Line of Control earlier this month, inflicting some damage.

Pakistan's Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman visited the forward airbase in Skardu today and flew a Mirage jet, the report said.

According to PAF, Aman met the pilots and technical staff of the fighting force. A fighter squadron carried out higher and lower altitude flights.

The Siachen glacier is the highest battleground on the earth. It is located in the eastern Karakoram range in the Himalayan mountains where the Line of Control between India and Pakistan ends.

Wow that is some Spartan phalanx level shit, actually even more hardcore. I don't see anybody throwing stones though, most well developed countries will have much fewer projectiles than the rugged terrain of Kashmir I'm guessing.
Have you seen the mobs in India ? This video is pure BS. The Indian Police will get beaten black and blue by the mob if they use such tactics even in Delhi, forget Kashmir. These fancy tactics may work in South Korea, but will be horribly ineffective in India. In India, lathi charge and tear gas are the best options.

Pakistan in war mode? All forward posts activated, jets fly over Siachen; no airspace violated, says IAF
Reports in Pakistani media said air force chief Sohail Aman visited forward air base in Skardu and also inspected the war exercise conducted by Mirage jets flying over Siachen.

New Delhi, May 24, 2017 | UPDATED 14:50 IST
Reports in Pakistani media also claimed that Mirage fighter jets of country's air force flew near Siachen as part of a war exercise. The event was inspected by air force chief Sohail Aman. He also visited forward air base in Skardu today. The air force chief was accompanied by other top Pakistan air force officers.

According to PAF, a fighter squadron carried out higher and lower altitude flights in Siachen.

Pakistani air force's move comes a day after Indian Army released video of Pakistani bunkers being targeted by Indian forces at forward posts in Naushera sector across the Line of Control.

Though the Indian Army did not give much operational details of the retributive assault across the Line of Control (LoC) against Pakistan Army positions in Naushera sector of Jammu and Kashmir which were "aiding" infiltration, sources in the force said the strike was carried out on May 9, nine days after two Indian security personnel were beheaded.

The 22-second video showed concrete structures being reduced to rubble amid plumes of smoke and balls of fire. However, the area of the operation was not clearly identifiable in the clipping.

IAF CHIEF B S DHANOA'S LETTER TO OFFICERS

IAF Chief B S Dhanoa had recently written a personal letter to officers of the force, asking them to be prepared for operations at a "very short notice" to effectively deal with security challenges, including sub- conventional threat, to the country.

"In the present scenario, there is an ever persistent sub-conventional threat. Therefore, we need to be prepared for operations with our present holdings, at a very short notice. Training needs to be focused towards this," Dhanoa's letter dated March 30 said.

Pakistan Says Flew Fighter Jets Over Siachen, Indian Air Force Trashes Claim

Indian Army Destroys Pakistan Posts Across Line of Control

The report in Pakistan media further said that Aman met pilots and the technical staff and a fighter squadron soon carried out higher and lower attitude flights. Aman, himself, is said to have flown over the region.

The move comes a day after a video clip, provided by Army sources, showed heavy artillery bombing on Pakistani bunkers.

Indian Army spokesperson Major General Ashok Narula said Pakistan Army has been supporting armed infiltration in Kashmir and targeted attacks have been carried out to put an end to such activities.

Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa had said that the military would give a befitting response to the enemy in case of any aggression across the LoC.

Flew over Siachen my ass! Do these Porks even know where Siachen is? It's miles East of the Soltoro Ridge which is manned by India. The Porks are further West of the ridge. They don't have the balls to fly across the ridge and they dare not!

I'm sure they will never forget the incident when their Atlantique aircraft was shot down by our MiGs killing 16 Porki turds when they intruded into our air space in Aug 1999!

I do hope more to come. What I think by releasing the video now means, the action will take bit more time.

Also there was a sad news of sukhoi MKI going off radar, no news of it after that. I hope it was located and safe.
