Regardless, how brave this is and how well we are figh, We are fighting the wrong enemy ..

Our enemy is Pakistan Army, Militant in majority should be taken on by paramilitary forces with some assistance from Army, We are losing slowly but steadily our best to cannon folders ..

On other-side of the border, Pakistani Ranges are being supported by Pakistani Army to clear path for terrorists, The full blunt of task on our Army in majority from patrolling to sniping and providing support fire, Their is little role paramilitaries do, Hence most casualties are of Army ..

We need to change our tactics to make sure this war of attrition works on other way, Its presently harming us since the beginning, Only for brief periods under right supervision things changes, This is not enough.

SVD is gud against all those above in 7.62NATO, Its just need upgrade kit as done with AKM ..
The SVD and the Ammo might be enough but not the scope. Beyond 700 mts range it can't properly identify the Camouflage Snipers hiding in thick vegetation or wearing Ghillie suit. It can only engage target at that range but not celery identify the target. This create confusion and a matter of life and death on LOC that's why powerful scope on SVD is required.

IMO, early PSO series scope are at best comparable to modern ACOG.

Can a PSO mounted on SVD identify this Sniper hiding beyond 700 mts.

What is your opinion ?

Also i think we need a powerful Sniper for counter Sniping tactics that's why the recent RFI for Lapua Magnum chambered Sniper.
