Till 1990s, our CDO unit were operating like a true SF! Operating deep behind enemy lines and causing heavy casualties on the enemy. After the BM demolition ceremony, when the valley got hot and KPs were kicked out by islamist, CDO and Airborne units were poured in like CAPF units to control the situation!

After 2000s they surely got some good equipment and also did a quite few OPs behind the enemy lines but still they're being used as a tactical SOF unit for finsihing Ops ASAP.

Yeah most of their operations are like "if shit goes south we have someone to finish the job" or "these boys are experienced hunters, send them in". However sometimes, we do see deviation. In terms of marcos, they're on a PR parade since last year, testing full spectrum of warfare they have to offer.

And secondly nsg needs massive upgrades
It does need to induct sdrs comtacs standardize battle belts along with necessary mags and dump pouches
Need to induct massive nos of binods and considerable amount of quads
IR strobes and formalize complete night fighting capabilities
Then only they will come at par with world's gendemarie forces

They need ATAKs and some radios that are RoIP capable like MPU5s or Thales Spear .

exactly ! MPU5 is an all in one system for them only but it's way too expensive to be implemented force wide. Their current comms infra is decent and works in maximum of the use cases that they have.
