Not too expensive if its ordered in larger numbers and for military purpose. However it also depends on the product like 3M Peltor Comtac V. (3M is now paying out a huge sum because of a lawsuit about their products causing hearing damage). Something like Safariland or Ops Core AMPs are on the high end of that spectrum.
Tbh an indigenous option is needed.

Didn't understand the relevance of your comment. The comment I copied from Reddit was to highlight 3 things

1. The gun was chosen because it was the lowest bid. Not the right tool.
2. Operators don't really care for it
3. It's for ALL CT units. Not just the police unit in the picture
