Moreover, if satellite imagery would have been so good at covering real time images, what would have been the use of military drones. Surveillance is not for sats, its for on site assets like overhead drones. Satellites are mostly used for identification and periodic surveillance of strategic asset.Google Earth isnt a real time surveillance system.
Its a database of maps that is updated periodically. Apart from that, they are forbidden to cover sensitive areas, in high resolution.
That apart, if any such op did take place, it can be timed to be asynchronous to the overflight time of military surveillance satellites.
Pentagon's spy sattelites can even pick up a car number plate at day time. With synthetic apertures they can even see through overcast conditions at night. Moreover, if satellite imagery would have been so good at covering real time images, what would have been the use of military drones. And that would indeed be the case if the Western countries and newsmedia were routinely publishing sat pics of piglets in their camps in Baki Occupied Kashmir and beyond. Tell me , how many such pics have you seen? I am hard pressed to recall even one that appeared in a major "western" publication recently. They have all the fancy pics of probable Baki nuke locations and tunnels, but none of the terror camps. In these days of satellite surveillance by western nations, no covert operation would go unnoticed. Western media would have surely reported. Resourceful News agencies like CNN and BBC have their own damn good techs of gathering secret info. Google Earth would have picked up destroyed terror infrastructure in PoK, if a cross-border operation happened. I am skeptical about any such claim.
Agree, but that they do in a specific time, not in real time. NRO does operate satellites which could obtain real time imagery, but if they start doing this each and every moment something happens in Indian subcontinent, then it would be good for nothing to them.Pentagon's spy sattelites can even pick up a car number plate at day time. Sites of flood, earth quake are photographed by weather sattelites with lesser resolution.
Let's see CNN international had little or nothing much about the Uri attack, BBC had a small ticker running about the attack. In POK truth is often the biggest victim, the porkies ensure there is a tight lid on media presence let alone coverage. Terror camps or regular posts of the PA are not easily visible on Google earth, often these camps look like regular villages in remote areas. Only MI, Raw know exact locations, discovered through long term comm surveillance, HUMINT, tracking of known terrorists, movements of PA support elements etc.In these days of satellite surveillance by western nations, no covert operation would go unnoticed.
