Thats for destroyers, for frigates its standard to have 8 AShM and 32 anti air. Can check against chinese Type 54 or american upcoming constellation class.

Not sure. Depends on how other projects are going. IN planned to have 18 SSK but now it seems the number will be around 12 with a mix of old and new subs by 2035.

It is not just that. We are also focusing alot on endurance and capability to carry more stuff at sea as we don't have alot of support ships.

Also, we don't need to arm ourself to teeth. They are adequately armed for their self defence but yeah need of the hour is advanced missiles and UVLS.

From what I heard there were some design changes which caused the delay alon with the Covid stuff.

IIRC the last of the Kilo class subs were inducted in the late 90s. Even if one were to consider 2000 as the cut off date , in spite of all these MLUs they'd be close to 35 yrs old in 2035 which means they'd likely be retired by then . That leaves us with only 6 nos Kalvari class subs .

These 6 subs will most probably serve for another 10-15 years.

15 yrs would take it to 2040 which translates to the youngest of them being 40 yrs + . Seems very unlikely especially given these are of Soviet make which isn't known exactly for its longevity & durability. The last thing we want is a mishap Indonesian Navy style.

They have to serve because old sub is better than no sub. They could have gone for more Kalvari class instead of doing the MLU but what to say.

Unka Goliath crane collapsed back in 2016 or so. The only crane capable of doing 250tonne module transport

Atleast only silver lining is Navy/Shipyards atleast manages to make our own ships, even though for Subs they still depend on foreign vendors.
