Some good screen shots of 40mm shell exploding in mid air above enemy..

Adding previous post for better understanding.. >>

Sir, Its a beauty ..

The Rounds have electronic fuse, In Anti personal role in thick vegetation these explodes in mid air, Right above or near the target creating hell lot of shrapnel, Killing or wounding enemy in 10 m radius or more, L70 in full auto fire 250rnds per min and have a range of 12,500 m far away from enemy sniper or HMG, It can be used in many roles, Given its mobility is an issue..

Its a very effective anti-terror weapon..

This photo is taken by me in a tour, you can see the work of 40mm shell shrapnel around and big once go even far..

The red once are tracers..

This gun is shorter and lesser powerful then what IA using, This gun is bofors 40mm L60 in the vid, Indian Army use Bofors 40mm L70, L70 use longer barrel and has shield around it, And use more powerful ammo..

This two are the most detailed vid on youtube on bofors 40mm AAA, Which gives the idea about its power..

The 2003 Indo-Pak ceasefire has become meaningless

Jammu, August 22, 2013

"There were two ceasefire violations by Pakistan last night", Defence Spokesman Col R K Palta said on Thursday. There was Pakistani firing along LoC on several Indian forward posts in Hamirpur sub-sector of Poonch district from 2130 hours last night, Mr. Palta said.

They fired automatic weapons and medium mortar shells, he said, adding, "Our troops retaliated effectively and exchanges continued till 2230 hours".There was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the firing.
A senior security official said, "The 2003 Indo-Pak ceasefire has become meaningless. There is daily firing these days as was witnessed before 2003".The 225-kms long LoC in Poonch-Rajouri sector has witnessed daily firing since August 10 with over 28 ceasefire violations recorded this month.

There have been over 80 ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops this year from January one till now.

@Kunal Biswas Just wanted to confirm whether the news of massive Indian retaliation (destroying 5 posts) was verified by respectable sources or was it a paid/govt. planted news...Have been following this closely but cannot get to convince myself.

Pakistan Army says two soldiers killed by Indian fire along LoC

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani army said that two of its soldiers were killed on Thursday in "unprovoked" Indian fire along the border dividing the disputed territory of Kashmir, in the second such incident within two days.

One soldier was killed and two others injured in the latest firing incident along the Line of Control (LoC) a statement by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

"Indian troops again resorted to unprovoked firing at Hotspring (Tatta Pani) sector in the evening. A Pakistani soldier has embraced shahadat (martyrdom) while two soldiers are injured," it said.

Earlier on, a Pakistani soldier had been killed "due to Indian troops unprovoked firing at the LoC on Thursday," according to a statement by the ISPR which added that, "Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing at the LoC in Rakhchakri sector near Rawlakot at 1150 hours today."

On the other hand an Indian army officer said that Indian troops had responded after receiving gunfire from Pakistani soldiers, and the exchange lasted three hours.

He spoke on condition of anonymity in line with military policy.

The latest development comes a day after Pakistan asked India to stop further ceasefire violations in a message delivered to the Indian deputy high commissioner Gopal Bagley after he was summoned to the Foreign Office to receive a demarche over the latest ceasefire violation in the Shaqma sector, near Skardu, in which a Pakistan Army officer was killed and a soldier critically wounded.

The recent flareup started two weeks back when five Indian soldiers were killed along the Line of Control, which is a UN-monitored de facto border dividing Kashmir between India and Pakistan.

India said the five were killed by Pakistani forces but Pakistan denied involvement and the government has issued a series of conciliatory statements.

The incident was followed by a series of ceasefire violations along the LoC with casualties sustained on both sides of the border. Both countries engaged in allegations, denials and counter allegations over the firing incidents.

"Pakistan will also continue to seek dialogue and resolution of all outstanding issues with India peacefully," the Pakistani government said in a statement on Thursday.

"The ceasefire should be maintained in letter and spirit.

All military and diplomatic channels should be used to prevent ceasefire violations," it added.

Both countries control a part of the Muslim-majority Kashmir region but claim it in full.

India says this year it has seen a spike in attempts by militants to infiltrate into its part of Kashmir.

Many analysts expect the trend to continue as the two countries jostle for influence in Afghanistan, from which a Nato force is preparing to withdraw by the end of 2014.

Re: Pak Army Captain killed by Indian Army Firing.

LoC firing: Pakistan Army captain killed

ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani army officer was killed and a soldier wounded after an exchange of fire across the de facto border with India, the Pakistani military said.

According to the military sources, a captain was killed and another soldier was seriously injured when Indian forces opened "unprovoked fire" at Shakma sector near the town of Skardu on Tuesday night at 11:15pm local time.

Pakistani troops responded to the firing and exchange of fire continued for several hours after midnight, said the sources.

Recent weeks have seen an escalation in tensions between the two South Asian neighbours, with several soldiers killed on both sides of the border, which either side declares to be unilateral violations of a 2003 ceasefire by the other country.

LOL true. Pakis have a tendency to fire in the air - maybe some minor celebration like no pant browning that day was celebrated with a shot in the air and the wind simply blew the bullet back at the Paki.
