I don't expect both India and Pakistan to ever miscalculate against each other except something out of their hands could force them to clash however example say economy collapses or major natural disaster etc etc

Forget KGB opposing that. The pakis don't have the money to do it.

I believe they will use a hybrid strategy where they will not try anything big so that they get time to consolidate and reequip themselves. This is where they will get the big guns and other heavy hitting weapons

They will also use the freed up resources (militants and small arms) and redirect some of them to keep India under pressure.

We should not make a mistake in handling both these threats. We must deny them a free hand in Afghanistan and make real the threat of Taliban itself being against the pakis. They should be made to face a situation where they must engage more resources to tackle warlords doing a creeping takeover of pakis.

We should also tie make their heavy investments into this infra a losing proposition. Like Imran said, even food should be a worry for them.
