It doesn't matter what the norm is . What matters in the end is economic performance ! We can post mortem a performance till the veritable cows come home viz - every small nation state which has a population < 5-10 million ought to be a Singapore or a HK or a Dubai. On the face of it , it's true. Yet these are exceptions not the norm . Ditto for landlocked Switzerland.

People shouldn't go by attire of CM of UP. Administration wise he is well managing a State which has a large population of a particular peaceful community and a history of Lawlessness. He is also popular in Karnataka, Telangana, Punjab, Maharashtra.

Modi was more extremist in his speeches than Yogi during his chief ministership of Gujarat. And
less we talk about Gadkari the more better it will be. He is like Atal Bihari Vajpayee, neither feared by either Opposition or Lutyens media. He can be compromised easily just like Vajpayee.

Neither Jaishankar or Gadkari can bring people to vote for BJP.

Modi might favour Jaishankar or Smriti Irani in the end. But the last decision will be with Sangh pariwar.

Plain and simple. There is no one like Modiji to have a pan India appeal. BJP must start looking at next level of pan India leadership. Yogiji , closest popular leader, will get the North votes but BJP may need votes from all over India to remain in power. I simply don’t see any leader for that. Let’s see if anyone emerges. Amit Shah or Yogiji become the PM face - even though both are not great orators but solid administrators.

BJP should look for a successor among current or future BJP CMs. Again this will be their worry in 2029 only.

Populist leader should be in centre aided by domain speciallists in respective ministries. Jaishankar is an intellectual. We already had 2 intellectuals as PM of India in past and look what they had done during their tenures.

But in US, people doesn't elect president directly.

They first vote for an Electoral College which in turn votes for a President.

The voting for the Baramulla and Anantnag-Rajouri constituencies is scheduled for May 20 (Phase 5) and May 25 (Phase 6), respectively.

Rajouri-Poonch is the area where maximum confrontation with Pakistani terrorists are taking place at the present time.
