It's not about taking some people, to a non descript cemetery, but giving the necessary public acknowledgment...( Its like banging a female, without marrying her.. There is no public acknowledgement, but of course there would be a used condom, like the cemetery lying in some corner )
Even the various battles between China and Vietnam, and the resulting casualties in the 1980s, were publicized much later..

People going gaga over this pic, it is pretty possbile this badass is from Ladakh, NE or even a Nepali Gurkha. These days all regiments are homogeneous and especially officers are posted regardless of their ethnicity (notice the star on the shoulder, probably either Lt. or Captain).
