You could be right. I personally have no idea who's pulling the strings, just speculating. Though one thing is for sure, The posts that got 100's of millions of views were definitely being promoted by Twitter content strategists/moderators. Apparently, even people who just created a new account on Twitter or hadn't logged into Twitter in many years were seeing that in their recommended.

My theory is that there are underlying algorithms on twitter which amplify hashtags based on rate of likes and rate of geographic spread in views, which these third party ops are taking advantage of. With bot farms, you can make a hashtag or phrase rapidly grow in views+likes, and manipulate the location of these bots, after which the twitter algorithm then automatically pushes it to the feeds of most normal users, because it ticks many of its "viral" boxes. Elon has made the code publicly accessible, so there are a lot of ways in which organized groups can learn to game the system.

Long term, the only way for India to shed its current subhuman image is to do the following. Till then just accept being seen the way we are and concentrate on personal success. The unseriousness with which GOI is approaching the imagery problem has made me come to terms with just letting it be and closing the whole "information warfare" chapter in my head.


-Very serious psychological and information warfare programs up to the challenge of AI proliferation. Efforts by our amateurs won't even make a dent
-Beautiful traditional style architecture as standard. Again, your cities define you.
-Clean and green cities
-Economic dominance fostering dependence on India
-Original inventions and innovations from India that become widely known and used (Requires 4-5% of GDP in R&D)
-Using Meditation and Hindu philosophy (Upanishads+Bhagavat Gita+Surya Siddhanta) as actual tools to gain competitive advantages for Indians in productivity and mental discipline rather than as just soft power copes
-World famous companies that make original products
-Globally popular movie and music industry that artfully shows Indian culture, history and way of life (don't cope by saying bollywood)
-Regular military victories outside our soil. Even something low intensity like the Indian Navy's current anti piracy operations are now achieving more soft power than our entire entertainment industry and netizens combined.

These are all long ways away. Hopefully we don't condemn our kids to be seen the same way we are.
