just waiting for a congressi or didi's reply. We are non violence so we oppose BULLET train. Bjp is violent so they are starting BULLET train to kill minorities.
Most small-medium scale businessman based in Mumbai and having units in Gujarat have there units based mostly in South Gujarat. I travel twice a week by train and know that most of the people alight at Vapi. Vapi station is not only for people in Vapi but also for Silvasa, Daman, Pardi and Valsad. All of them combined there are thousands of small, medium and large industrial units. If there is an HSR connecting Vapi or Valsad I can think of travelling 4-5 times a week instead of twice a week at the moment. It is good for business and also for my social and family life as I can save travel time and spend the same with my family and friends. At the moment I spend 8 hours in traveling every time I go to Vapi or Valsad.I don't see many passengers boarding train at Vapi, Valsad. Most of people are from Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad. I don't know much about Maharashtra but don't you think having lots of stops would increase travelling time ?
Maglev trains is also a issue that will be discussed in the upcoming Modi's visit to Japan. India and Japan are co operating in this field.Sweet dreams of some Railway officer. Come out of dreams & take some action. Do something that is immediately possible & then talk but not talk about something that will happen 20 years later.
better not build such trains,India considers magnetic levitation technology for high speed trains
India has taken the first step towards running a truly high speed train by opting for magnetic levitation (Maglev) technology under which the screech of the wheel hitting the track is obviated as the train floats at high speeds a few inches over the track.
Thus India will avoid emulating Chile and some other countries that have been running refurbished versions at higher than currently prevailing speeds on the same track.
Rather, the country is fashioning a new game altogether, said a Railway officer specialising in design. Running on dedicated tracks, the trains will come in complete sets: there will be engine cabs at both ends and non-detachable coaches in the middle. This will eliminate the swaying motion Indian travellers are accustomed to.
The trains will have under carriages placed in a way that one axle and two wheels come under one coach and the rest under the next one, thus guaranteeing rapid fire acceleration.
The snub-nosed engines, super shiny outer hull and windows merged with the coach body are some of the features that will cut air resistance, the Railway official said. With cars to be allowed right next to the platform, passengers can park in front of the allocated coach.
As the train surges to its top speed, WiFi and mobile phone connections will continue to work seamlessly, for the entire ecosystem is electronics-intensive and microprocessor controlled so much so that wayside signals rushing past the train will be reflected on the locomotive's control panel.
Instead of the no-option, tepid railway meals, orders could be placed at well-known food chains willing to cater to these trains. One SMS and food will be available at the next intermediate station.
But before this, there is hard work ahead. The Economic Survey has warned that high tariff and large passenger volumes are required to justify investment in the project, which is highly capital intensive in nature.
During his Japan visit and interaction here with the Chinese, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be exploring complete financing options at close to zero interest rates. Simultaneously, the Railways will work on reducing overhead costs through property development and other means.
If all goes well, India will join the club of two dozen countries running ultra high speed trains. For a country which figures in the first few in having an aircraft carrier, a full fledged space and nuclear programme and an ongoing mission to Mars, this will be better late than never.

They are on par with air travel and are cheaper. They work well in selected routes not in every route.better not build such trains,
in China, such trains are protested against by ppl coz they are not good
They are on par with air travel and are cheaper. They work well in selected routes not in every route.
These protests are because of poor Chinese safety norms, Chinese standards are 22.5 M where as German standard is 300 M.
not good for health and environment, thus they protest and the government gave up the plan
The Shanghai scheme has a buffer zone around the track that will be 22.5 m wide, which compares unfavourably with German standards that require houses to be 300 m away from the line.[6] Representatives of the residents filed a formal request to demonstrate with the Shanghai Public Security Bureau, which was rejected.

Japan Gov't OKs plan to to build maglev line, despite environmental concernsThese protests are because of poor Chinese safety norms, Chinese standards are 22.5 M where as German standard is 300 M.
What makes you think what we have today is good for the environment?not good for health and environment, thus they protest and the government gave up the plan
It's fine. Unlike Japan, our railways build most of their lines through very barren areas. So, there is no environment concern of the sort faced in Japan.Japan Gov't OKs plan to to build maglev line, despite environmental concerns

However, Ota also voiced concern about the environmental impact that the construction and long-term operation of the maglev rail would have. He urged JR Tokai to make effective use of waste soil and keep local residents in the loop about construction plans, TBS reported.
dude, those environment concerns are about when the Maglev passes some residence building. It's fine. Unlike Japan, our railways build most of their lines through very barren areas. So, there is no environment concern of the sort faced in Japan.
This is from the deserts of Rajasthan.
Madhya Pradesh
Jungles of Maharashtra
We have plenty of use for displaced soil.
And maglevs and bullet trains are more environment friendly than aircraft.
What is the concern?dude, those environment concerns are about when the Maglev passes some residence building.
if no concern, why do they protest?Maglevs also eliminate the need to use fossil fuels for engines. So the impact on the environment is drastically reduced compared to what we have today.
So, what was this environmental concern you were talking about?
Because the maglev they have planned is just 10 m away from residential areas. It is a China-specific issue. It won't affect India.if no concern, why do they protest?
