Ok, just recalled this.

Back in 2003 I was visiting Calcutta with my parents. It was April, I think, India was touring Australia and Saurabh had smashed a 140 at the Gabba
Anyway, we were visiting to attend a marriage of a relative and were staying at a flat allowed to us by our relative. The flat was on the 3rd floor and behind the main house , which was a traditional Bengali house.(the types you see in movies with a central court yard etc)
The flat had a dining + hall and two bedrooms and was furnished.
We came home late at night from the marriage revelry and went to bed.
I woke up at night from what best can be described as crackling noises combined with water boiling. The noise was starting and stopping. I was semi awake, lights still off and my mind trying to search whether it's real noise or something in my mind.
I finally woke up and switched on the light.
In front of my eyes the tiles ripped out of the floor, they ripped out like how a pack of cards would turn up when shuffled!!
The bed sank a few inches
I was absolutely panicked and parents woke up and rushed in from their room
Two rows of tiles had been ripped out and the bed sunk.
I slept on the floor in my parents room that night.
The next day we raised an alarm and told the home owners. Who strangely took it as a matter of fact.
My better half who is an architect by training says, she can't believe this happened as it's contrary to the engineering behind laying floor tiles.
Years later this happened in a corner shop in New Zealand. I will post the link to the news report after this.
Till today I can't explain what had happened

What I experienced in my own house in my own room; I had a bed of 6x4' which had high head and foot so I used to sleep on the ground beside my bed as it was short for me.

One night I slept on the ground on my cotton mattress, just as I was about to sleep I heard a voice "dhadaam" from on my bed, I woke up switched on the tube light searched my bed and room but found nothing, so I switched off the tube light and again slept, but just as I was to sleep again a voice came from my bed "dhadaam", this time I was 100% sure that the voice came from my bed, it sounded as if a brick has fallen or a kid has jumped on my bed , I again searched but found nothing, I Again tried to sleep but this time surrounded with doubt I was unable to sleep, so I stood up, came out , locked my room and slept calmly on the bed (bed with no side) on hall. From that day I never slept on my room except only with my brother whenever he returned from the city. :D

Even today I don't know what was that, nor I cared to know since I always had better sleep in the hall.

2 experiences with my friends, I don't know if anybody will believe me or not, I don't expect anyone to believe, but it's true, few of my friends went for tracking and camping in badrinath 4-5 years ago, they have gone to heights for camping, one night when they were sleeping, they heard mantras being chanted, nearby, so they decided to find out, while roaming outside they found a cave nearby, and the voice was coming from inside, so they went inside, the cave was deeper than they thought, after about 1/2 hr walk they saw very tall guys in meditations chanting mantras, all guys were stunned to see such tall guys, one of the friend asked folded his hands, touched their feet and asked them politely, that who they are, the guys started speaking in sanskrit, one of my friend said that these guys are asking which yuga is this, my friend said that this is kalyuga, which yug u belong to, they said some of the guys belong to previous kalyuga, some from satyug, he said I am doing tapas from the beginning of tretayug, he said, please don't tell anyone about this place.

There are things in the Himalayan ranges that western thought cannot explain.
As Sadhguru Shri Jaggi Vasudev says, the Himalayas are an abode of mysticism(not exactly in these words).
One should be able to meet Ashwathama as technically he should be around due to the Lord Shri Krishna's will. So it can happen.

An official Yeti expedition was also sanctioned by British Indian Govt with clear instructions that any evidence should only submitted to the Govt.

I've experienced it and it was awesome. It was like a force field of positive energy was formed around my body and someone was protecting me.It was straight outta some sci-fi movie experience. There were sound effects too.
Not kidding. It was a real experience.

I don't know about ghosts but there was a strange incident took place in February which the Indian air force tried to cover up... Su -30 was used to shoot at unidentified object.... later it was told that it was a balloon.... but this is not a convincing story

My cousins living in Delhi area had recent experiences!!

They live in north Delhi and heard voice of crying lady one night (some 5-6 of them). It was coming from outside from the staircase. They live on the top floor and it was coming from the last floor. They went out and it stopped. The same incident has repeated over several times in the last few months.

They talked to their neighbors about it and one of them told that a large part of this area was grave yard under Muslim rule and it is common to hear such noise or experience other such incidents. But there is not much to worry and can be ignored in general. He also told that this is one of the reasons that dogs in the area keep barking all night and never go quiet!

Funnily, one of the guys was alone one day and also heard someone knocking on the door while he was showering!!

Also, some of their friends living in aother place in same area heard "payal ki awaz" one night and got shit scared and moved out of their apartment the next day!

okay so i couldnt find the narration of Carpit saahab's experience in the dak bungalow in his own words. AFAIR, he had recounted it to one of his friends later on in a letter. i really dont recall where had i read it, but good thing is i do recall a few tidbits of it. so here goes...

this happened during his long hunt for the Champawat maneater tigress. now this tigress itself had a reputation of having some otherwordly power backing her up, & even Carpit saahab too wondered that after it escaped him multiple times, once or twice even after being shot at rather close-range, which would've sufficed to kill any other tiger. anyway...during the course, he travelled from Pali to Champawat, and wanted a place for night-halt. the tehsildar of Champawat however requested him to move to another place a couple of kilometers further (why, i dont recall). now this place had a reputation, of the grim type. for, the caretaker though spent the evening with Carpit saheb, but flatly refused to have to do anything with the dak bungalow at night. so much so that, he simply chose to walk those kilometers back to Champawat in the night, with the tigress prowling around!

after dinner, the caretaker left, the tehsildar retired to one room & Carpit saahab to another. it was after midnight that Carpit saahab tells of feeling a VERY oppressive presence in the immediate surrounding. IIRC he descibed it as a presence so evil & gave such a chill that it literally pushed him out of his room. and upon exiting the bungalow, he was surprised to see the tehsildar too standing outside, sweating, & carrying the same expression as Carpit saahab! he doesnt tell anything beyond this, writing, that there shouldnt be place for supernatural matters in a book on jungle lore.

what actually had transpired was, at around 1 AM, Carpit saahab was woken by the sound of heavy footsteps walking in his room/just outside, as if someone was dragging himself with difficulty. this was followed by a feeling of heavy dread & eventually very stifling/strangulating. he had to dash himself out when it became unbearable! what he found later on was marks of thick slush & mud in his room & outside, as if someone with muddy shoes had been dragging himself around. the tehsildar had a similar experience.

(i have read about a bit similar experience of 2 bikers from a group of enfield bikers on a trip to i think Uttarakhand/Laddakh region, who went astray for a few miles & had a similar oppressive feeling [with a sense of stillness in time] in an abandoned dak bungalow).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Carpit saahab also had a third inexplicable experience which i just recalled (during the hunt for the Talla Des maneater). not much to write about, except that it was the same thing what @FRYCRY had mentioned early on in the thread - mountain lights.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

next i would share the supernormal experiences of the Jim Corbett of South India - late Kenneth Anderson. unlike Carpit saahab, he was quite forthcoming and generous in telling about those. y'all will have a good time reading those am sure. :)
Very interesting... I also hear strange sounds occasionally which others dont. I do think these are just auditory hallucinations triggered by fatigue, anxiety etc. I saw a ENT specialist in a reputed hospital. He could not detect any abnormality in cochlea or hair cell. It is not that I am scared but I have developed this obsession of investigating source of such sounds. Sometimes, it is just mundane causes which escaped my attention. At other times it is truly mysterious and defeats all logic and reasoning.
