Ok, just recalled this.
Back in 2003 I was visiting Calcutta with my parents. It was April, I think, India was touring Australia and Saurabh had smashed a 140 at the Gabba
Anyway, we were visiting to attend a marriage of a relative and were staying at a flat allowed to us by our relative. The flat was on the 3rd floor and behind the main house , which was a traditional Bengali house.(the types you see in movies with a central court yard etc)
The flat had a dining + hall and two bedrooms and was furnished.
We came home late at night from the marriage revelry and went to bed.
I woke up at night from what best can be described as crackling noises combined with water boiling. The noise was starting and stopping. I was semi awake, lights still off and my mind trying to search whether it's real noise or something in my mind.
I finally woke up and switched on the light.
In front of my eyes the tiles ripped out of the floor, they ripped out like how a pack of cards would turn up when shuffled!!
The bed sank a few inches
I was absolutely panicked and parents woke up and rushed in from their room
Two rows of tiles had been ripped out and the bed sunk.
I slept on the floor in my parents room that night.
The next day we raised an alarm and told the home owners. Who strangely took it as a matter of fact.
My better half who is an architect by training says, she can't believe this happened as it's contrary to the engineering behind laying floor tiles.
Years later this happened in a corner shop in New Zealand. I will post the link to the news report after this.
Till today I can't explain what had happened
