I think by month end Pak will declare itself default.
Mods can run a poll as well..
My question is what happens when a country like Pak declares itself default? Even ChatGPT may not know halat of that mulk :eek1:
If they are begging for rollovers, and additional loans, and banks unable to open LCs to release containers with essential commodities stranded at Karachi port, reality is that they have already defaulted. Declaration is just a case of formalizing the fact.

If you declare default, then bye bye to new loans, bilateral or institutional. Lenders dont lend to entities which do not have the capacity to pay back, in time. Inflation will go sky high, if it isn't up there already. The aam Abdools will hit the streets once they are fed up of eating grass. Crime rates will shoot up. And not to mention, it would be a perfect recruitment ground for the likes of TTP, Daesh and the lot. Thats what happens when a country like Paxtan defaults.

I very much doubt Paki awaam have any fight in them to hit the streets and orchestrate a revolution. That'd be giving them too much credit. What we consider as horrendous is very normal for Pakis. They got used to such living conditions already. The fight that will happen will be outside Punjab, from areas that aren't really Pakistani at heart. Baloch. Sindh. and KPK.

Pakistani is a country made for the elites. The rest just happen to be the laborers needed. Whatever might happen, the army won't side with the common man.

Most Pakis didn't even dare to join IK for a small scale yatra. The ones that did fled like dogs facing rubber bullets and tearshells. Rather than expecting such a populace to do anything groundbreaking, I'd expect pigs to fly.

Pakis aren't totally inept, they can build some textiles, clean toilets in Saudi and drive cabs in west. And somehow, they can get by with 13 children.

But to change their system, they'll need leaders. The last leader they had was Jinnah and that guy was a conman. Today, no leader will go against the army. Heck, even IK, the figure that caused the most polarization against army, doesn't dare to go against the army. He just wants them to be neutral.

While Pakis might bitch and moan about how IK will put army in place if he comes to power—and that in itself is a big IF—IK or any politician can't just become PM and fight an organization that's been ruling Pakistan since '50s with white papers and pens. They'll put a bullet in his head and it's game over.

Pak army is very experienced in things like these and they won't hesitate. The worst they'll face is another military law for a few years and sanctions. When this happens, they won't suffer. Common people will. So, they don't really give a F. It's business as usual for them. Then after a few years of suppressing any unstable elements, they'll push another puppet govt as Naya Pakistan. Rinse and repeat.

Army, not Islam, is the glue holding Paki together. If army remains in power, Paki will never grow. If army goes out of power, however, Paki will cease to exist. Catch 22 at its finest.

"The cumulative spending on debt servicing and defence remained at Rs2.2 trillion, equivalent to 107% of the federal government’s net income. The net income of the federal government was Rs2.04 trillion, after paying the provinces their shares under the National Finance Commission award."

"Compared to the huge spending of Rs2.2 trillion on debt servicing and defence, only Rs119 billion was spent on development. "

Who in their right minds will give any bheek to these sooars? It's either the "friends" or the dumbos!
Have you even defence budget shrinking in Pakistan?

Agreed with almost everything you say 100%. Just saying that when the shit hits the fan, the aam abool, even from Lawhore or Kachrachi, will reach peak of frustration. The rest have already crossed that phase. The PA doesn't have the appetite to enforce a martial law now, because it will just attract more sanctions and totally alienate lenders.
In any case, the future is not very bright for the Abdools.

Povertystan is sooo desperate economically that they're selling their profitable LNG plants to Qatar for just $1.5 billion to get immediate income that won't last for more than a week. Basically to delay default by a week. Pakistan is like a fish stuck outside water suffocating desperately trying its best to gasp oxygen to survive a few moments more as much as it could.

Youthia logic is just next level...

This is Imran Khan's Mianwali

As long as average pakistani consumes political propaganda from youthias/patwaris, they'll remain deluded forever, because their entire country outside Islamabad and their gated societies built for the elite is an overgrown slum full of poverty. Bangladesh for all the fun we might make of them are still much more successful than Pakistan because they are nationalists and don't have interest in creating problems and terrorists for neighbours and peacefully deals everything diplomatically without dreaming of doing any sort of misadventure that might permafuck their country forever, which pakistan never did.
