Bottom line, it's not even a part of the F-INSAS program. It's their concept of the future soldier program for India. Many private companies like TATA, and foreign companies like the French, etc have shown their concepts.

If foreign companies want to equip the Indian military. In that grand of a scale. License production should be given, I think.

Its looks very much part of FINSAS, Why coz in the conference there are not only US companies with there respective countries`s advisers..

The Model is not exactly as US future solider model either, But much more Indian specific ..

All the sub systems are not going to be Deign and made in India but also foreign companies product on license manufacture..

How do you know? We have seen count less numbers of concept advertised by foreign nations and Indian private companies.

Trijicon stuff should be ordered and made in India, i think their battery free range is unparalleled, good for 15 years, should be standard for every armed soldier in police, paramilitary and army.

do you know the cost of Trijicon, cheapest one with guaranteed bulk order will be at least $500 and ACOG scope would be around $3800 at present market value.

INSAS would cost $500 and if you add basic Trijicon which will be $500, our budget would be screwed, at that price we can get another INSAS or cheap AK 47.

Though Trijicon ACOG is something worth having despite its price..

I have recently using red dot sight is good till CQB but ACOG is universal..

I think that price can be reduced drastically atleast by 1/2 when OFB can have a licence to make it in India. The idea is to provide, Trijicon's battery free red dot, reflex, holographic and ACOG scopes would be the most useful since they can last 15 years in continuous operation, that is a whole lot of life.

Such scopes would give a decisive advantage on the battle field.

To begin with Trijicon scopes should be standard atleast with all specialist units Marcos, Garuds, Para SF, SPG, SFF, NSG, Cobras, State commando units, CISF black panther units, army ghatak, these units must have proper scopes. currently the MARS is used on the Tavors but MARS is not battery free. Trijicon's battery free options are better.

sir in 15 years tech will be go places, if you have problem with battery, then have a battery indicator in the red dot and carry extra AAA or AA battery with you. good red dot will cost about 5000-10,000/- depending on what you want.

I think Trijicon's current range is best we can find and with local manufacture and speedy production we can pretty much provide these for the entire force within 5 to 7 years. Having to carry batteries just adds to list the of extra items to carry on missions. Besides in frontier locations the battery consumption can be very heavy. MARS has a battery life of 200hrs thats 8.3 days. Compare that to not having to change a battery, the cost of buying a locally made trijicon couldn't be more than 15k rs.

Sir, MARS has system where Red dot shuts automatically after some time, just like in cell phone. Please think it like that, do we have the luxury of having those expensive sights which cost about 18 lacs at today's market price when you can get 72 INSAS rifle or more of AKs for same price, assuming that cost of INSAS is 25000. As per as having 15000 for locally made Trijicon is concern, already posted that Trijicon guys have said they will supply cheapest Trijicon for $500 for bulk order. They are best in the business and ACOG is so much in demand that it is not easily available in US. So even if they will give TOT or we can get something as close to their product, expected to big extortion from them.
