In the current age, I would not point the finger at Brahmins. As to to the past, we should all aim to move on.
I agree. But has discrimination against lower castes stopped?
If reservation is removed , 60% of the bureaucracy will be occupied by Upper castes, when 80% of the country is lower castes. Will that be good for the country(merit and BS aside or even included for that matter)?
I think there is still a case for positive discrimination for some groups who have been left behind completely, but also that such positive discrimination may be removed in areas where the SC/ST have progressed. I do not subscribe to the view that positive discrimination is inefficient; if it makes whole groups better educated and moves them up the value chain, then society benefits economically as a whole. Socially as well, Hinduism benefits, as it moves beyond the old feudal order to one of merit, which I think the ancient Rsis had originally intended.
I think the only way to remove reservation is by making the castes irrelevant by promoting intercaste marriages and by promoting reservations for those(intercaste marriages involving BC-FC, FC-SC, SC-BC and not FC-FC, BC-BC, SC-SC)
But most of the dogs I see on the internet think that they are smart and that they can get away with propaganda and bull shit. They claim to be victims of Reservation. So only I asked them if they would be willing for proportionate reservation system- that way they cant claim that bull shit.
Its a trick question of course, UC bigots will say no because they already know they control the government(have more than their fair share of representation in the government) and so they know that they will lose out in a proportionate representation system
UC who are victims of propaganda and dont know that they actually have a higher representation in the govt will gladly accept it.
And the UCs who are neither victims of propaganda nor castists bigots would not have problems with reservation anyway because they will know that it is only fair that lower castes are given their chance to come up in society
Again, ask yourself, how many have want to have proportionate representation here? What does it tell you?
