Airborne Systems will display its Guided Precision Aerial Delivery Systems (GPADS) at DEFEXPO 2014 from February 6 – 9 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.



The GPADS, which includes MicroFly®, FireFly® and 1T FF, are capable of carrying an operational payload range from 200 – 2,200 lb (90 – 998 kg) and require only the impact coordinates and rigged weight to provide precision cargo delivery from high altitude.



Airborne Systems is the technological leader in precision aerial delivery as evidenced by FireFly® and DragonFly® being adopted by the U.S. Army for its JPADS 2K and JPADS 10K Programs of Record.



Also on display will be the RA-1 advanced ram-air parachute system.



This system has received type classification by the U.S. DoD and utilizes the Intruder® canopy.



In 2014, the U.S. DoD will begin fielding the RA-1 parachute system to the U.S. Army, Air Force and Navy.



Other items on display will include the T-11 troop personnel parachute; and other HAHO equipment such as the Special Operations Long Range Oxygen Supply 3,000 psig (SOLRâ„¢ 3000) that offers 60% more oxygen capacity than the PHAOS; and the Parachutist High Altitude Thermal Suit (PHATS®) – a complete thermal management suit that is lightweight, breathable, windproof and water repellant to protect against extreme cold temperatures during HAHO jumps.

Rosoboronexport, the agency of the Russian Federation for defence exports, will display its aircraft in view of New Delhi's upcoming tenders. Russia is indeed offering its Ka-226T light utility helicopter in the tender for 197 reconnaissance and surveillance helicopters for the Indian Air Force, and its Be-200 multipurpose amphibious airplane for the Navy.

Diehl showcasing modern defence technology at DEFEXPO 2014

At the DEFEXPO from February 6 to 9, 2014, in New Delhi, India, Diehl Defence is not only presenting a cross-section of advanced guided missiles for combat aircraft, naval vessels and submarines, but also exhibiting innovative system solutions setting new standards for ground-based air defence.

Precision ammunition for infantry and artillery as well as a non-lethal effector based on High Power Electro Magnetics technology, which proved its counter-IED performance in crisis regions, are also part of the display.

Moreover, Diehl Defence is presenting modern tracks for military vehicles worldwide. The so-called Vehicle Upgrade Demonstrator is a reproduction of the front part of an armored tracked vehicle showing solutions for re-motorization, modification and retrofitting.

The subsidiary JUNGHANS microtec, market leader for fuzes, is exhibiting its key components for medium- and large caliber ammunition.

no, but got some great pics from TATA, including amazing solar cells, which looks like made on cloths...................

Such a CBRN Mini UGV will be tele-operated to scout an area suspected for contamination

This counter-IED 1kW laser enables remote disposal of surface laid unexploded ordnances, mines, directional mines and IEDs. The laser is mounted on a Light Security Vehicle made by TATA Motors. The system's effective range is 30-250 meters. The smaller aperture adjacent to the main laser unit is a rangefinder, designed to determine the exact distance to target. The system also employs a target sighting camera.

Light armored vehicle equipped with a laser dazzler, operating as a deterrent non lethal weapon

This close up on the laser dazzler shows the payload (in the rectangular box) and aiming camera. As a non lethal device, the laser effect is to confuse and intimidate potential threats by sending a brilliant burst of laser light energy into the path of suspicious idividuals. THe effective range of the system is 50-250 meters.

As part of TATA'S strategy to enhance the scope of its defense business Tata Motors HAS showcased the 'Kestrel', an 8×8 wheeled armored amphibious VEHICLE platform providing protected mobility and firepower to the troops.The vehicle is designed as a Light Armoured High Mobility Vehicle (LAMV), functioning as a recon scout vehicle, moving ahead of the armored columns. The vehicle was designed by the Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Supacat of the UK, an expert in tactical armored vehicles, has also provided vital reconnaissance, mobility, protection and firepower support.

The vehicle has a maximum capacity to carry It can carry up to 10 troops and a crew of two. The crew compartment seats are arranged back to back, enabling the use of firing ports and opening hatches. The vehicle uses independent suspension enabling better traverse over rough terrain. On road the vehicle can reach a to speed of up to 105 km/h. For its missions, LAMV can accommodate different turrets, weapon stations and payloads. suspended vehicle has high power-to-weight ratio for mountain terrains.

The vehicle can accommodate different variety of weapon stations and turrets as the application demands. The vehicle has an integrated blast and ballistic protection including blast deflecting V-hull and an armor protected, detacheable capsule for the protection of the crew. In the scout version the LAMV will carry four troops in addition to the two men crew. The fuel tanks are placed outside the crew compartment for additional safety.

The research and development establishment of India has developed the "RUDRA", a new gun mounted remotely operated vehicle. The RUDRA is especially designed for Army and Paramilitary forces to provide an autonomous vehicle to perform counter insurgency operations, hostage situations and hold-ups within buildings reducing risk for the soldiers.
The RUDRA unmanned ground vehicle is armed with a 7.62mm machine gun and one AGS-30 automatic grenade launcher.
