The Russian 6th gen will be an actual 5th gen fighter. It is the opposite of Chinese nomenclature that calls J-20 4th gen because they can admit that they are behind.Watch out for the upcoming development next week from Russia....
"RUSSIA DEVELOPING 7TH GEN FIGHTER"
It could not even field a proper 5th gen engine...
They are.I wonder why USAF - the biggest, most high tech, best organized, most experienced and highest funded air force in the World - is not doing it? Or you think you're better than the entire USAF?
They had ramjet AMRAAM as early as early 90s but did not field it. The Americans through Hughes (now Raytheon) even bid in the Meteor missile program but lost to European team due to concern that European companies really did not have much participation in the Hughes bid.
It wasn't really an issue considering French advancements in missile propulsion with the ASMP programme. Once the hypersonic version of ASMP is produced there will be plenty of spin-off hypersonic missiles that will be made in Europe based on French propulsion. They had ramjet AMRAAM as early as early 90s but did not field it. Didn't F18s already have such technology onboard, which warns them of Over-G?MiG received a patent to protect pilots from overloads on military aircraft
MiG Russian Aircraft Corporation (part of the United Aircraft Corporation) received a patent for a new intelligent system of protection against critical overloads for highly maneuverable combat aircraft. This was announced today on March 4 in the corporation.
“When conducting a highly maneuverable aerial combat, the pilot must constantly monitor the piloting modes according to the indicators on the dashboard. Overloads can reach 9G. The new intelligent system in combination with the helmet-mounted MiG indication and target designation system will allow the pilot not to be distracted by the dashboard and focus on tasks, ”the press service explained.
It is noted that the possibility of exceeding the critical overload in the range 1−2G due to the application of additional force on the control stick of the aircraft, as well as temporary or complete shutdown of this system.
“A new intelligent automated system for protection against exceeding maximum loads is already being implemented on our modern aircraft,” said Ilya Tarasenko, CEO of the corporation.
usually like typical propaganda, they say Turkey will beat, Turkey has no chance to really go against Russia, Su-35 will trash the F-16s, Syria is not well armed, but it is because Russia is not really meddling, once the Russians go head to head with the Turkish they will beat the Turks.

Here’s why ‘who would win a 1-v-1 air engagement, (Turkish) F-16 or (Syrian) MiG-29?’ is a No Go Question

Combat aircraft aren’t some kind of medieval knights on a jousting tournament. They’re not even ‘Spitfires vs Bf.109s’ any more. On the contrary, modern aerial warfare is one of most complex disciplines in the history of humankind.
Again and again, I’m getting the same question, usually in style of ‘who would win a 1-v-1, F-16 or MiG-29‘?
Please people, get it into your heads, finally: that’s not how modern warfare works. Combat aircraft aren’t some kind of medieval knights on a jousting tournament. They’re not even ‘Spitfires vs Bf.109s’ any more. On the contrary, modern aerial warfare is one of most complex disciplines in the history of humankind.
Nowadays, nobody – repeat for emphasis: nobody – is as stupid as to operate single combat aircraft entirely on their own. Even smaller air forces are going to support their F-16s or MiG-29s with at least ground-based early warning/surveillance radars, COMINT/SIGINT (i.e. ELINT) assets, probably also with help of electronic support measures (ESM, like electronic countermeasures: ECM). Combat aircraft – and their pilots – are much too expensive, much too vulnerable, much too much a matter of national prestige – but to get blown up just because somebody there was too lazy, incompetent, or simply incapable of providing them the support they need to ‘work’ (i.e. function as designed and intended).
Moreover, the essence of modern aerial warfare is something called ‘situational awareness’ (SA). SA consists of finding out where is the enemy, what are enemy’s intentions and capabilities, and then killing that enemy – and denying all the same to the enemy. The situation in regards of the SA is such that in every air war since around 1968 one side usually has it, and the other not. The side in possession of the SA (or at least ‘superior SA’) wins, something like 1934% of times. The side without the SA is losing, every time.

Thus, when you ask me ‘who would win a 1-v-1, F-16 or MiG-29’, first thing coming to my mind is to ask you back such stuff like, What kind of support platforms are around? …and only then: what version of F-16? What version of MiG-29? What armament? In what position vis-a-vis each other are they? What’s the local terrain and weather…?…and that’s just the start.
Check what happened the last week over NW Syria.
– Turkish F-16C Block 40/50s, supported by E-7 AWACS and a host of advanced ground-based radars, Koral ECM-systems, armed with AIM-120C-7s, etc…
– Syrian MiG-29SEs, supported by obsolete ground-based radars, minimum ECM-systems (if any), and armed with R-77.
Outcome? 2 Syrian Su-24MK2s, 1 L-39, perhaps also a Mi-25 splashed, all by AIM-120-C-7-shots taken with help of E-7s, launched from within the Turkish airspace. The Syrians never got as far as to at least get any of their MiG-29s near the combat zone – and they’re unlikely to risk doing anything of that kind: you can bet your annual income, they know why.

Even the Americans are not well prepared, Russia can only be beaten with a two war front, China attacking in the east and the West in the west, but the Chinese will not be allowed to advance beyond some point, if they try, Russia will switch sides, who will win none, but this analysis is ultra simplistic, Russia has excellent technologies to the degree even the F-35 will find hard to beat Su-35.
you will see, Russia has developed such powerful fighter in the Su-35 and Su-57 that leaves that crap of F-35 out of the game, Su-24s are bombers for you information, they are not armed with long or medium range missiles but only short range AA-8 Aphid, they are not the most advanced jet in the Russian air force, pure propaganda already Su-35 and S-400 have sealed the air space, if you do not think so remember Assad already controls most of Syria and the West can not do anything, and remember S-500 and Su-57 are coming.Such an uninformed opinion in a defense forum. Modern aerial warfare does not work that way. A lot of factors aside from aircraft determine the outcome of an aerial battle, eg. training, tactics, support assets, etc.
Re Su-35 vs. F-35, you're in dreamland. If you only understand what you read those poor Syrian jets shot down never new they were about to go down. They were killed from BVR, which is where most aerial battles happen in modern aerial combat.
So even granting we're in your fantasyland, Russians in Su-35s will not know they are targetted by F-35s until their parachutes open (ie. in a fantasy 1v1 scenario).

The americans have to hurry to get a 6th generation fighter and the Germans and French are not buying crap, the F-35 is one of the worst aircraft ever designed by the USA aircraft industry, fat, small wings delicate and dependant in electronics so much that its hardware is crap.
But time will show a lesson, the best fighter always needs to fly fast and be manoeuvrable, that fighter is Su-35, not a crap fighter overpriced, overhyped and over burden with problems basically a maintenance nightmare.
ignorance? to claim downing a 6G limited swing wing aircraft with only AA-8s represents superiority of F-16? what a good statement, remember Assad kicked the ass of the west now he rules Syria and that is thanks Su-35s since the Russians also do strikes, and even downed most of the cruise missiles that did not damage Assad air force since it is still flying and L-39 is an advanced trainer but of 1970 vintage what a feat, where are the F-35s? over Syria?Such a vocal expression of ignorance. There's no more wild West style face-to-face duel in modern aerial warfare. The side with superior "system," tactics and training wins. And the winning side will not show up in front of you for a duel. Most kills will happen without the defeated party knowing it.
