Chinese contingent arrives in Pakistan for joint air drill - Xinhua | English.news.cn

ISLAMABAD, May 5 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese air force contingent arrived in Pakistan on Monday for a joint drill.

The drill, code-named "Shaheen (Eagle)-3," will be held at the Rafiqui air base in the northeastern province of Punjab.

The joint training, part of the exchange and cooperation programs between the two air forces, is expected to strengthen the friendly and cooperative relationship, the Chinese Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The first such drill was held in Pakistan in March 2011, and the second in China's western Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region last August.

PRC will make it believe that it does not need a Pakistan to counter India and there is some noise of high-level visits coming up to India by PRC where that ought to be made more clear(er).

Perhaps a drill that envisions going into the middle east to protect a monarch about to be dethroned. Would that be in the scope of PRC and Paki partnership. Can Pakistan be the agent for PRC Middle east security (and mirror of North Korea).

If only there was no weapon systems like F-16 and american missiles (preference) and PRC moves ahead with converting Pakistan to be a mirror of North Korea. The real drill now seems more likely to be PRC secretly observing how to decapitate Pakistan in case they go (more) rogue and getting more juice about the americans systems.

It is wonderful to learn that China is out their helping the PAF to hone up their flying skills.

They require it.

"China and Pakistan are all-weather and all-round strategic partners," Xi said during their meeting, highlighting the two countries' high degree of trust and close communication on many major issues.

Sure.

And Uighurs are all weather all round friends too with friends helping them against friends.

A charming equation indeed!

And the all weather all round friend is really looking after the Chinese engineers in their land. Helping China to control their burgeoning population.

Do you seriously think that China really wanted an "all weather friend" with a muslim country after all the hostilities with Muslims throughout China's history? The only reason they had to become friendly with Pakistan is India. If India and China became good friends, China will treat Pakistan just like India does. Both India and China have always have bad and violent experiences with Muslims throughout both their history.

Wishful thinking!

China and Pakistan have been allies.for more than half a century, both countries have vested interests in this alliance and they go way beyond India. We all know.that.there are no permant allies nor permanent sworn ennemies. But in your case, unless you are willing to handover disputed territories back to China and stop supporting Tibet there will be no allliance between China and India at the cost of Pakistan. All tjeu want fron you is big business, nothing more nothing less.

Pakistan has her own geo-political leverage which makes her inyeresting for many countries and India has nothing to do with it so I am sorry to burst your bubble.

Pakistan will be China's energy corridor for a long time to come.

When flying foreign aircraft, it is essential to update with the pilots of the Nation that gave the aircraft.

It is essential and a great help.

The Nation that has designed and produced the aircraft have enough in their kitty and so they actually don't require an assistance.

That is how I look at it.

Of course, if you are looking at China and Pakistan operating to hone up skills against a common adversary, then you are right - mutual benefit.

Point.taken. But the backbone of PAF is stil
not China made, we have 67 F-16's and 200+ Mirages. Please note that the excersice is being held close to eastern border......

Here I would most humbly disagree.

China is immensely sensitive to anything that upset their policy of 'stability and harmony'.

The Uighurs are not helping in this regards. And there is a growing suspicion that these Uighurs have safe sanctuaries in Pakistan.

Further, attacks on Chinese engineers and technicians in Pakistan when they are there to help Pakistan, is another issue that the Chinese do not take kindly too.

Chinese are a patient lot, but I take it that they too have a breaking point.

They are hanging around, though a whimper at times sound from Beijing, because Gwadar is a important strategic staging post for them, in case the the Malacca Strait gets blocked for any reason. It is more so because the Myanmar route may face problems given that Myanmar is slowly embracing democracy and is moving into the Western camp.

There is no disputed territories to hand over to China. In fact, China has done a remarkable smash and grab act.

India does not support anyone in Tibet. It would be counter-productive. Yes, Tibetans have been given asylum after China overran their country, but then India had no option given the UN Charter on Refugees.

OK so it is the eastern border?

That is why you have emphasised 'mutual benefit'.

Understood.

Good luck in your Mission!

Lets agree to disagree but if Chinese wanted to back off they would have done it after the first deadly attack on Chinese engineers more than a decade ago. Presence of chinese military and security personell is a direct result of Chinese concerns regarding the security of 10.000-15.000 Chinese working in Pakistan.

Uigurhs are a very small community in Pakistan; some 200 People reside in Waziristan and Chinese intelligence keeps a.good record of them alongside their movements in neighboring Kunar province. We have alrady captured and returned 20 terrorists to China and we're working together to get the rest. Pakistani drones armed.with chinese AR-1 missiles.are active day and night in the region with Chinese satellite providing full intel.

China is important to Pakistan, the military, ISI amd the.civil governments have no quarrel or doubt about it. We will never allow our territories to be used against China.

Excersices in peace time have become more.and more important to Pakistan and we are conductime them on frequent base in Turkey (Anatoliyan Eagle) and China (Eagle 1, 2 and now 3).
Eagle.2 took place deep inside China with Mirage Rose and F-7PG and anti terrorist strikes were the theme.last year.

Probably this year PAF is playing IAF agressor and further evaluating J-10 and.J-11.

Regardless the stage they are equally beneficial for both countries,
