well, guy, the mission might be a mid-course interception in space..... if so, it is competely different from the “adterminal interception" of Russia, India ,Israel and Japan.
however, I have to wait for more details.

in fact, CHinese managed "adterminal interception" in 1970s with FJ-1 anti-missle systems even during the rule of Mao.
CHinese FJ-1 anti-missle system,which were developed in 1960s-1970s. it could hold up missles with nuke warheads.
Terminal phase interception requires a quicker reaction time and radar which does not have to be a higher band. Since Chinese are claiming they have achieved mid course interception
my questions are:
1) what radar are they using to detect the launch which could possibly be from thousands of KM's away??
2) Do Chinese have X-band radar capability??
3)is the system setup to work with satellites??
4) since it is mid course interception heavier and larger missiles would be required for interception and fly further out there is a chance these anti-missiles could be intercepted??
5)what missile was tested against the system??
6)one test is enough to claim success??
7)has China developed space based sensors needed for interception??
8)is this based on Russian A-35 or A-135 system??
what good would it do selling it to Pakistan when it is designed for ICBM'S? If it was sold to Pakistan a good chance that USA will get their hands on it, and anyway it is useless against decoys,MIRV'S and a missile salvo attack, selling a defensive weapon is a good counter against the offensive weapons USA plans to sell Taiwan??maybe China wants to sell it to pakistan and north korea too, I bet we are looking at the first stage of the retaliation to selling weapon to Taiwan

In fact, the information i got from Chinese report is that, only US and Japan have done similar test before.USA,Russia,India,Israel have all done this and Japan is also in the process or may have also done this.

A ballistic missile intercepting a ballistic missile. That is the only thing with the speed they have to get up that high. Quite similiar to the preprogrammed launch against the satellite. This must have been planned for a better part of year since it coincides with the PAC-3 sales to Taiwan.maybe this can solve the problem

How can it intercept anything in war conditions when it is a preprogrammed launch planned forever and a day? You have two ballistic missiles flying into each other. You know the expected flight path of each. Given todays supercomputers it isn't a great feat to calculate that. When you add all the unknown variables of a real intercept, you are going to have to have an agile and sophisticated kill vehicle, not a ground programmed ballistic missile.frankly speaking, there is no mature NMD tech in the world at all.

for time being, such a space interception tech can not hold up nuke attack from Russia and USA,but it might hold up the limited nuke attack from Iran,N.korea...and India.
Besides it also proves that CHina has narrowed the sino-USA gap and left others except USA behind.....
