What does that even mean? People invests in places that makes them money. If they do not invest in your country, it's because they could not make money in your country :)

That said, the vast majority of investment in China came from Hong Kong. Not the West ;)

Isn't he right today so many top real estate companies have collapsed or defaulted which are worth in trillions !
This concrete accounts 30% of you're GDP..
Yes, he is right after China's GDP with its "property catastrophy" in 2009 has grown about 400%! :D

You people make very silly predictions based on jealousy not facts.

Since trade war began, Chinese bought 30M cars in 2023.

And became the top global auto exporter (not just EVs):

Hong Kong is not the West. It is you who are cherry picking. Hong Kong has ALWAYS been the conduit for Overseas Chinese money not Western money. That is why after 1997, when China took over Hong Kong, it stayed financially powerful.

And why would Western money come from Hong Kong and not from Wall Street or London?!

Indians have very weird and magical ideas to cope with China!

China has an independent semicon supply and process chain and is already at 7nm with 5nm soon -- US and Europe cannot make 5nm except by contracting on fabs in Taiwan ;)

I've seen idiots before but believe me , none more than the Wumaos & among wumaos none a bigger idiot than you . You talk about China being in a position to fabricate 7nm & 5 nm SMCs & you then post a picture with the headlines - China close to shipping 5 nm chips despite western curbs & right below the headlines the line - SMIC is facing lower yields as it makes 5 nm chips for Huawei smartphones.

So I state you may well come out with a 5 nm SMC but its yields will be the lowest in the business by which time TSMC & Samsung are now coming out with the 3 nm SMC .

Where is Indian 7nm or 28nm or even 65nm commercial fab? You have access to ASML and all the tech from your "friends" :)
We're in the process of setting up fabs for 28 nm SMCs which will start mfg in a couple of years. Do keep up with the times . From there to 7 nm SMCs should take us a decade . Hence around 2035-27 , we should be where you are today. Where would you be by then ? Either in Taiwan OR ...........🙂

To be honest, this industry has no place for countries outside the West and East Asia. And the West except for Intel (7nm) is behind China in fabrication.

To be honest except for China , SMC fabs can be set up anywhere in the world as they are being set up . China's capacities are going to be a thing of the past. Where exactly do you propose to sell those Huawei smartphones when the US has barred Alphabet / Google from providing Huawei with authorisation to the Android OS ? 😉

And when all the Chinese capacity are built out in a few years, that path for anyone else to enter even the lower end of market will be almost impossible. China will make all chips at economy of scale unmatched anywhere.
Without this Android OS who exactly is going to buy Huawei except in Zhongguo or a few other SE Asian & African countries that too in low numbers . Gradually you'd see other Chinese cell phone OEMs like Xiaomi , Vivo , Oppo , etc in the same category of exclusions like Huawei.

This will then be extended to your EV junk. Hence you may well possess mfg capacities in unlimited numbers but where are you going to sell your merchandise to ? Lots of good & exciting news & developments like these are coming your way. 😉

In other words, India has absolutely nothing but belief and hope for the future. Good for you, stay positive :)

This is the Western take on the reality but what is happening in China is far in advance of this. Otherwise, Huawei would not be ramping up a massive amount of new 5nm level phones and servers in the coming year -- they can only use Chinese fabs ;)

Hopes for the future ? Evidently you're not up to date with latest developments in spite of being here 24x7. That's one of the perils of being a wumao that too a Gaokao fail wumao . Besides this is the Government of India not the CCP of China to indulge in propaganda . Like the CCP which was exporting foodgrains while millions of its Han slaves were dying of hunger in a man made famine also known as the great leap forward . 😭

5 nm ? The latest laptops by Huawei showed those 5 nm SMCs it contained came from TSMC. Will SMIC mfg 5 nm & 7 nm SMCs ? Of course it will . And the yields will be among the most pathetic in the world of SMC like all Chinese products. 😉

Sorry but all those nice words are just hope for future. India has nothing commercially in semicon. I don't believe even a 130nm that could be put in a refrigerator somewhere.

Yes, Huawei is using older stockpile for laptops :)

Pathetic yields cannot supply millions of chips needed for the Mate 60s and AI GPUs ;)

We've been fabricating 180 nm SMCs at the SMC fab in Chandigarh since nearly 15 years if not more except it was in small quantities for defence & space application but you're free to believe whatever you want to. 😉

At the end of the day you're a Wumao propagandist out here night & day earning your 50 cents per post from the MSS trying desperately for our validation in a way you don't see any Indian member out on Chinese defence forums seeking Chinese validation . Never happened in 2000 years nor will it ever happen unlike the Han who've ALWAYS sought Indian validation. 🙂

As far as Huawei competing with Nvidia goes , we'd believe it the day the actual competition happens . As of now the story is 5nm SMC in Huawei laptops are from chips made by TSMC. Then there's the not so small matter of the yields of your SMCs fabricated by SMIC. Good luck to you .😭

Hmmm, that sound exactly as I said, India has no commercially viable chips even at 130nm for refrigerators. But good luck!

It is pretty much dead and gone. There is no way an actual communist nation could be the largest economy and trading nation in the world like China is today -- when China was communist, it was poorer than India :)

That is because Communists do not believe in trade, travel or free enterprise. Chinese do ;)

Let's start from the bottom. So as per wumao number 1 here , India's EV market is 60,000 per year . Here you go :

https://evreporter.com/indias-electric-vehicle-sales-trend-january-2024/#:~:text=Category wise-Sales Trend from Jan 2023 to Jan 2024,-15,72,383 EVs

Total EV sales in India is 1.5 million vehicles .
"Total EV sales in India is 1.5 million vehicles . "

"Last year, 25% of all vehicles sold in Mexico were sourced in China," Farley said. "The world is changing."

Ford, GM CEOs open to partnerships to compete with China
Chinese cars are sold in Mexico, but they are not EVs, why? first in Mexico there are not enough charging stations, second chinese brands are not dominant and third and more important is EV in Mexico are very dangerous, why? simple EV have their batteries on the bottom of the car but mexican roads have these

pretty crappy Chinese EV with mexican roads are a reciepe for disaster

Yes . 1.5 million EVs sold . You can read can't you ? The sources & break up have been provided in the link attached.

That link was to provide the break up of the amount of imports from China of EVs .
