Read the underlined words....
Bulava does have a much longer range than both the K-4 & the K-15 SLBMs being developed by the DRDO...I don't think the Navy would need that, considering that Sagarika is already being prepared. If Bulava can offer a longer range permitting our forces to strike Beijing and Shanghai, then it would be possible but MTCR makes that impossible. So Bulava is not a possibility. Or else we could simply modify BrahMos to strike 2,000 Km.
Given sufficient necessity & political will, India can join MTCR group. Although, that is no requirement here. Indian Missile program is pretty much matured & bringing in Bulava for IN is an absurd idea at its best. NX32 can not be 'transformed' into Indo-Russian SLBM, it can just be sold.^^ Because we are their largest customers and lack a decent defence infrastructure even after 63 years of independence. There is plenty of evidence to prove that statement, so let's not waste this thread.
K-series is good enough and will meet the requirements of our navy but even if Russia wanted to sell it to us, it cannot due to its MTCR signatory status. China on the other hand is bound to no such treaty and hence freely transfers missiles to any country it wants.
