Range of the BrahMos Blocks-1/2 stay capped at 290km.

There is no difference in Brahmos I/II/III except for seekers. If Brahmos III can do 550Km, so can the other 2. As usual he will make up tall claims and we should supposedly eat it up.

Although I agree with you why Block-1,2 with same range?? But few of his analysis/points has been proved right in last 1 year.

not sure, but my rough estimate is around 300-500 brahmos missiles

We can have 50 also or may be 500 too but we can only talk as per official news/statement which says 150 odd Brahmos operational.

MoD is very bad in hiding secret. Unfortunately, They are neither capable nor they they are involved in fast R&D and production.

I have tracked most of the news in last 2 years which only indicates 150 Missiles. (+/- 10%)

Anyone can say we have 1,000 also or rate is 100 per per year but it's just opinion !!

The Hindu : News / National : Second BrahMos regiment handed over to Army

Also news came that 3rd and 4th regiment will be inducted in 2013 & 2014 respectively and will be deployed in West region and A.P.

Most likely, 6 warships including 3 Kolkatta class destroyer and 3 Talwar class frigates will be equipped with Brahmos and will be inducted by 2014.

when it comes to numbers, never trust the media...

nobody know how many sukhois we have, but we can only estimate it is around 150+.

brahmos cost only 2-3 million dollar per missiles. we can easily have 200-250 missiles when we spit out around 300-450 million dollars. this cost is nothing to india. considering the factor that russian and indian are jointly producing it.

I really wish, I would be wrong.

But Russia didn't bought any Brahmos for their armed forces. They already operating something similar to Brahmos which is P-800 Oniks / Yakhont

Recently during Russia visit, MoD Antony proposed Russia to Buy Brahmos but they denied by saying we have something similar to that. You can check the statement also. May be Russia will be interested in Brahmos-2 but it will be operational in 2017 only i suppose.

Yes, 500 Brahmos is what was proposed but by 2020.

If we have 150 odd + 150-200 in 4 years. Then 150 between 2015-2020 is no brainer. We will have one more facility in next few years too.

We can easily have more than 600 too by 2020. Unfortunately, All news suggested we don't have enough as of now but we might have in good number in future

IAF will also operate brahmos equipped with MKI by 2013-2014

290 Km only. It's same missile but lighter one with A-2-S role.
