Visited the 15th century Lepakshi Veerabhadra Swamy temple.
Temple has history from 1424 onwards but the main inscription dates to 1531 AD.
We must appreciate the efforts that would have gone into sculpting granite instead of any soft sandstone or marble in this temple.
There are also paintings on the ceiling of the temple which have survived till now
Pictures are not allowed to be taken inside the sanctum of temple, so I took them in only the outer part.

This hamsa is seen as a symbol at many places
Octagonal Pillars (at the base)
It was interesting to see these big pillars (almost like a triangular shape) with a different sculpture on each side.
Notice how the dance step progression is depicted with 3 legs
