iirc they have developed a 600hp engine for ficv ,1500hp for arjun+fmbt which could be upgraded or downgraded for specific models

It might be the same with reduced piston number..
Anyway they want 30:1 horse power ratio in frcv.
Max weight shouldn't exceed 57.5 tons.
So this engine provides hardly 26 horses per ton, they will put this 1500hp in Arjun mk1A. they will upscale this engine for frcv. Additional 250horses will give 30:1

yeah i heard 1750-1800hp figure too lets see what happens if they could down scale the engine we could use it in t90s hopefully 1200hp range

Arjun was designed keeping desert in mind it cannot be the best but it is neither that worse media is talking yes mk1 was complete shithole with many issues but mk1A has sorted it out. It has all things a modern tank needs I don't think it lacks anything major which current tanks need... and don't forget Arjun performed better than t90 in desert..
Most important it has got Penetration cum blaster.
